Experience nature in its most authentic dimension with asnowshoe hike in the magical Val di Rhêmes, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
Immerse yourself in the alpine landscape by following the path that runs alongside the Dora di Rhemes, an enchanting mountain stream.
Discover the secrets of the ecosystem that surrounds you, spotting animal species and listening to the tales, descriptions and curiosities of the environmental guide who will accompany you along the route.
What we will do
We will meet at 10:00 a.m. in the hamlet of Chanavey, in the village of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (AO). We will meet the guide and the rest of the group and, after an introductory briefing and the handover ofequipment, we will set off.
Equipped with snowshoes and poles, we will walk along the snow-covered paths through the thick larch forests that flank the Dora di Rhêmes and make our way towards Lake Pellaud, an enchanting sheet of water that reflects the winter colours of the mountains.
We will be immersed in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park and will be able to spot herds of ibexes and chamois, admire the flight of thegolden eagle and bearded vulture and, with a bit of luck, even meet some wolves.
The activity will last about 4 hours and will end with a return to the starting point.

This activity is at an easy level and is suitable for everyone from 5 years upwards.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point approximately 15 minutes in advance.
This activity can be carried out from December to March, and is confirmed when there are at least 10 participants, weather permitting. The location of the snowshoe hike will be confirmed a day or two before, after checking the snow and weather conditions.
The excursion will be led by a specialised and exclusive Gran Paradiso National Park guide.
On the return it will be possible to have lunch at one of the facilities in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (not included in the participation fee).
