Full description

Have you ever heard of the Lanzo Valleys? Get ready to discover one of the most authentic places in Piedmont, where the silence is broken only by the rustling of snow under snowshoes.

In the company of a hiking guide, a day of exploration awaits you amid snow-covered woods and winter postcard views.

And when you have lunch with a view of the peaks of Levanna Centrale and Bessanese, you will understand why so many people fall in love with these valleys!

What we will do

The rendezvous is at 8. 45 am at the meeting point in Germagnano (TO), where we will meet our hiking guide and compact the cars before heading up together to the Chiesetta dei Rivotti in Groscavallo, the starting point of our adventure.

After a briefing with the guide and the distribution of equipment (snowshoes and poles are included in the fee) , we will start snowshoeing along the path that climbs gently towards Gias Nuovo Fontane (1, 990 m) .

During the walk, we will make panoramic and photographic stops, learn to recognise animal tracks and listen to stories and curiosities about the local fauna and mountains. The route will wind through beech forests and wide open spaces, with views of the peaks of Punta Rossa di Sea, Uja di Mondrone, Punta del Rous and Monte Morion.

We will have a picnic lunch in front of a "wow" panorama, with the peaks of Central Levanna and Bessanese in the distance, and then return to the starting point.

The itinerary will be 12 km long in total, with a positive altitude difference of 590 metres, and a total duration of about 6 hours, 5 of which will be snowshoeing.

Who it is aimed at

The minimum age to participate is 18.

The experience is of an easy-medium level, suitable for anyone with a minimum of training and familiarity with walking in the mountains. The route has no exposed sections.

Other information

The activity takes place from December to February on the dates indicated in the calendar and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.

Each participant must carry ARTVA, an electronic device used for safety in the mountains. For those not in possession of one, it is possible to rent it in specialised shops at a cost of around 20€ per day. Contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to check with her the available rental options. On request, it is also possible to rent crampons, at a cost of 5€ to be paid on site.

If there is no snow, the guide may propose moving the activity to a nearby location or converting it into a winter trek with the aid of crampons.

Leashed dogs are allowed.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport from Turin. Free parking is available on site.
