Full description
No two snowflakes are the same, just as no two snowshoe hikes are the same!
And the one that awaits you here, in Valsugana, is one you will remember: a loop of about 3 hours among Alpine lakes asleep from the frost, whitewashed pastures and mountain pastures that seem suspended in time in winter.
Together with a UIAGM Alpine Guide you will discover Lago delle Carezze and Lago Grande, with the magic of snow on your side!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Roncegno Terme (TN).
A UIAGM Alpine Guide will be waiting for us, who will give us snowshoes and poles. We will participate in a short initial briefing, useful for getting to know the route, learning how to use the equipment and setting the right pace for everyone.
We will set off from an altitude of 1566 metres, beginning our snowshoe hike among the snow-covered pastures. We will reach Malga Trenca, from where we will begin a gentle ascent towards Lago delle Carezze, the first panoramic point of the day.
From here we will continue along a loop that will take us to Lago Grande. We will then continue along a mule track that crosses other pastures to Malga Colo, and then touch Lake Malga Como and close the loop at Malga Trenca. Along the way there will be a few stops to rest and listen to stories and curiosities about the area.
We will finally return to the meeting point, completing a 5. 2 km route with 300 metres of altitude difference. The duration will be between 2 and 3 hours, adjustable according to the level of the group.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The route is of an easy level and is also ideal for first-time snowshoe hikers, thanks to the simple route with no exposed sections.
Other information
The experience takes place from December to March and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 5 participants.
Duration and itinerary may vary according to snow and weather conditions and the pace of the group, at the guide's discretion.
In the absence of snow, the activity may be changed to an alternative trek, subject to the participants' acceptance.
