Soft packrafting on the Serchio river in the province of Lucca

The Serchio river is the perfect place for packrafting adventures also in its soft version, perfect for families with children. A short distance from the city of Lucca, the waters of this tributary offer the right tranquillity to relax, admire the surrounding nature, and enjoy the small rapids.

On board a light and sturdy miniature rubber dinghy, you can paddle the river current under the supervision of aguide, enjoying the evocative landscape of the Serchio river, just a few steps away from the renowned Ponte del Diavolo (Devil's Bridge), famous for the legends connected to it.

What we will do

The appointment is in Bagni di Lucca, at the meeting point indicated in the booking confirmation. Before the activity you will receive the necessary equipment, such as a wetsuit, helmet and life jacket, and you can get ready in the changing rooms on site.

Afterwards we will board a van and in about 15 minutes of transfer time we will reach the starting point of the route. Before the adventure begins, I'll give you a briefing to explain the safety rules and how to move through the water with the packraft using the double paddle.

Let the descent begin! On board an inflatable canoe I will precede you down the Serchio river. On the 3 km course we will glide down the tributary enjoying the view, having fun navigating and overcoming small rapids. We will also be able to stop along the banks for a refreshing swim.

The descent will be very easy and also suitable for children, who up to the age of 12 will be on board the same packraft as their parents.

At the end of the approximately one and a half hour ride, the van will take us back to the meeting point, where we can change after the experience.

Between transfer, briefing and descent, the activity lasts a total of 2½ hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is at an easy level and suitable for everyone from the age of 5. Up to the age of 14, the presence of a parent is required, while from the age of 14 and up a signed release form will suffice.

Children aged 5 to 12 years will share the packraft with the parent.

You must not exceed 100 kg in weight, be in good health and demonstrate good aquatic skills. It is not necessary to know how to swim.

Other information

The activity is available every day from March to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.

The descent takes place in groups of a maximum of 10 people. If the number of participants exceeds 6, there will be two guides on the route, one preceding and the other following the group.

Upon request , a professional photo and video service can be added to the experience at a cost of €80.

You can leave your car in the car park at the indicated meeting point: from there, the association office is only a 3-minute walk away. Here you will find toilets and changing rooms where you can get ready for the tour and change at the end of the experience.

We recommend that you leave your valuables in the car.
