Rafting: everything you need to know about this discipline
Rafting is a river sport that involves descending the water course of a river or mountain stream. Aboard a special unsinkable raft, the crew traverses rapids and overcomes natural obstacles they find in the way.
Before leaving, the guides always give a briefing to learn the basic rules. Then you board the dinghy and paddle all together in the clear waters of the river, following the guide’s commands.
In its recreational form, rafting is an activity for everyone. There are all kinds of trips with different levels of difficulty, making the experience suitable even for beginners. Children and families are welcome. There are special soft-rafting trips for them, which are ideal for a first approach and to have fun in complete safety.
Rafting in Tuscany: the best places to practice it
One of the most popular locations for outdoor tourism in Tuscany is Bagni di Lucca, a town popular since the 19th century for its hot springs and natural landscapes. Rafting in Bagni di Lucca allows you to delve into nature and discover an evocative territory hidden among the hills of the Tuscan Apennines.
The Lima Creek is an inexhaustible source of fun and surprises. Navigating its waters means crossing dynamic currents, foaming rapids and rocky ridges. In addition, the breathtaking landscapes of the Lima Valley make a rafting experience in Bagni di Lucca truly unforgettable.
Lovers of art cities and urban environments, on the other hand, can go rafting on the Arno River. Florence‘s river is poised to provide unprecedented glimpses of the Tuscan capital with a scenic tour through Pontevecchio and other points of interest in the city.
How much does it cost to go rafting in Tuscany?
Prices for a rafting experience in Tuscany vary depending on the starting location and type of route. These range from 29 euros per person for a scenic tour on the Arno River in Florence to 65 euros for an adrenaline-fueled trip on the Lima Creek in Bagni di Lucca.

Excellent team
A truly wonderful experience! Kudos to Alina, Martin and Federico, who made the activity super fun and engaging: between adrenaline-pumping moments, including diving, and more relaxing ones in which we were able to fully enjoy the landscape around us. The barbecue was also a very pleasant moment, perfect for getting together and having a chat.

Super recommended!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, super adrenalin-packed and very well organised packrafting with breaks along the way to dive (if one wants to), take photos, swim in the current, etc. Even if it's a cold season, no problem, they give you the wetsuits and you won't feel the cold anymore. Plus they take all the photos and give them to you for free via a link. Much appreciated! Thank you very much
