Forget neck-breaking rapids and extreme action movies: the real luxury is being able to take a swim in the current, joking with other crews and disembarking directly under a Roman bridge in the middle of town!
Take part in this soft rafting on the river Velino in Rieti, an extraordinarily fun and accessible water activity for everyone.
A total experience of 2 ½ hours guided by a river professional, perfect for those who want to combine team spirit with discovering a relaxing river landscape rich in history.
What we will do
We will meet at the indicated meeting place in Rieti (RI) . On arrival we will meet the river guide and the organisation staff, who will hand over the necessary equipment (included): neoprene wetsuit, water jacket, life jacket and approved protective helmet.
We will start with a theoretical-practical lesson on land to learn how to paddle and the correct rules of behaviour in the water. Once we are ready, we will board the organisation's vehicles for a short transfer of about 5 kilometres that will take us to the embarkation point.
Once on the rubber dinghy, we will begin our descent along an extremely peaceful and hazard-free 5-kilometre stretch of river, ideal for enjoying the surroundings. The crew will be an active part of the navigation, following the guide's directions in time to steer the craft.
During the descent, which will last about 1. 5 hours in the water, we will be able to experience swimming in the current, try our hand at fun dives, and let ourselves be carried away safely by the cool spring waters. Between one paddle and the next, there will be no lack of jokes and playful challenges between the different dinghies in the group.
The navigation will end in a spectacular way: we will in fact disembark directly in the historic centre of the city of Rieti, right by the ancient Roman bridge of the old Via Salaria, near the starting point.
The total experience will last two and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
The route requires no previous physical preparation and is suitable for anyone in good health. The minimum age for participation is 2 years; minors must necessarily be accompanied by a participating adult.
In contrast to classic sports rafting courses, it is not essential to know how to swim for this soft variant, as stability is maximised and a high-flotation life jacket must be worn for the duration of the outing.
The activity is also accessible to people with disabilities.
Other information
The experience is bookable from April to October and is confirmed with a minimum number of 6 participants. Each raft can accommodate up to a maximum of 12 people.

Dogs are not allowed to participate in the experience.
The logistical base offers free parking for guests and is easily accessible by public transport. Bathrooms and changing rooms are also available for changing comfortably.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
