Full description
Venture into theAntro del Corchia with a guide: crawl through the tunnels, abseil on a rope and walk on the walkway of the tourist trail, exploring part of the 77 km of tunnels that make up Italy's largest karst complex.
Along the way, witness the phenomenon of karstification: stalactites and stalagmites decorate this incredible natural setting.
Thecaving adventure will last 3 hours. But you will want to return to discover all the galleries still unexplored!
What we will do
I will wait for you at the time selected during the booking process in Levigliani (LU). Once on site, I will provide you with thenecessary equipment (included).
We will set off on a path that will lead us in 20 minutes on foot to the entrance of theAntro del Corchia. After a briefing, during which I will give you information about the characteristics of the caves and how to behave during the activity, we will be ready to enter the largest karst complex in Italy.
After a narrow, downhill entrance, it will be time for a first rope descent, a second from a height of 20 m and a third. We will then walk along the footbridge of the tourist route for five minutes, before entering the Gallerie della Neve. Our exploration continues: the Antro del Corchia consists of 77 km of galleries in which to venture and crawl!
Whichever route we choose to take together, we will be able to witness the phenomenon of karstification, from which stalactites and stalagmites are born.
The cave experience will last 3 hours. At the end we will walk back to the meeting point in 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the path taken, for a total of 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 12. No previous experience is required; good health (no heart and/or respiratory diseases) and no fear of enclosed spaces are necessary.
This experience requires physical commitment: if you are over 60 years of age , please contact the activity organiser at the contact details given in your booking email to check that you can do the activity.
Other information
Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time.
The experience is available from December to April and is confirmed with a minimum of 7 people.
The temperature during the experience will be 8-10 degrees centigrade.
Please note that rings cannot be worn during the activity. If you wear glasses, you will have to tie them with a lanyard; it is preferable to wear contact lenses.
Itis not permitted to wear rock shoes or rock climbing shoes. Hiking, running or classic trainers are permitted. Alternatively, you can hire suitable shoes on site at a cost of €10.
