Do you want to know why there is a cave named Byron in Liguria? Get ready to find out with this romantic sunset gozzo tour.
Sailing from La Spezia along the Golfo dei Poeti, you will discover the charm of Portovenere amidst the thousand shades of the sky and enjoy an aperitif with toasts and typical Ligurian products.

What we will do
We will meet in La Spezia, 15 minutes before the time agreed upon during the reservation.
Climbing aboard theBlue gozzo , we will begin our approximately 45-minute sail to reach the famous Grotta Byron, a 20-metre natural cavity insinuated between the walls of the castle and the church of San Pietro in Portovenere.
This pearl of the Gulf of Poets will be the perfect setting for taking some photos and discovering interesting anecdotes told by the skipper: it seems that the poet Byron was inspired by this very place for the cave of The Corsair, his famous poem.
Having resumed our course, we will stop in front of Portovenere, with its colourful village and church overlooking the sea. Here we will stop for a swim enjoying the sea in the glow of the sunset and enjoy an aperitif on board with prosecco and white wine (non-alcoholic drinks on request), focaccia or cold dishes.
On the way back to La Spezia, we will pass Le Grazie, a seaside village in the Gulf, and Fezzano. The tour will last between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the time of year.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The excursion takes place every day from May to October, with a minimum of 6 participants.
The duration of the excursion varies depending on the period: 3.5 hours in May, June, July, August, 4 hours in September and 3 hours in October.
You will travel on a typical 8 m long Sorrentine Blue gozzo, which can accommodate up to 7 passengers, and is equipped with an awning, freshwater shower, WC, refrigerator, kitchen, stereo system, sundeck with sofa and table for eating.
In the event of food allergies or intolerances, please inform the organisers after booking confirmation.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport; a large car park is available on site.
Dogs are not allowed.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
