Full description
If every year you wait for the first snowflake with the trepidation of a child, here is the perfect experience for you.
Snowshoe for 3.5 hours on the Asiago Plateau through snow-covered meadows and woods. Along the way you will spot animal tracks in the fresh snow and stop for a sunset aperitif with your hiking companions.
That first flake is magical, we know, but this snowshoe hike much more!
What we will do
The appointment with the environmental hiking guide is on theAsiago Plateau at 16:00. After putting on our snowshoes (included), we will be ready to set off on our easy loop trail of about 5 km, with a maximum altitude difference of 200 metres.
Snowshoeing on the paths of the Asiago Plateau, we will cross meadows, pastures and whitewashed forests. During the walk, the guide will tell us curiosities about the area and its history, also showing us how to recognise the tracks of wild animals in the snow. We will have the opportunity to admire panoramic views of the Dolomites and Monte Verena, from where the first cannon shot that marked the beginning of the Great War on the Italian-Austrian front was fired.
Halfway along the route we will make a special stop: the guide will take out of his rucksack everything we need for an aperitif in the snow, with drinks and snacks to enjoy at sunset.
This toast will give us the energy to face the return journey. After the sun goes down, we will walk with lit torches, until we return to the meeting point at around 7.30 p.m. There is a refuge here where, if you wish, you can stop for dinner (not included).
The activity will last about 3½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The snowshoe hike is of an easy level and suitable for everyone from 8 years of age.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Other information
The activity is bookable from December to March, on the dates indicated in the calendar, and is confirmed with a minimum number of 8 participants.
The itinerary may vary according to weather and snow conditions at the organiser's discretion.
Theaperitif offered during the walk consists of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink and snacks such as bread, salami and Asiago cheese. If you have any food allergies or intolerances, please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
Dogs, of any size, are allowed.
