Close your eyes and imagine: the snow-covered forest enveloping you in a magical silence, the fresh snow crunching under your steps and the sun dipping behind the peaks of the Gran Paradiso National Park.
Now add a toast in front of a crackling fireplace, with a board of typical Aosta Valley products and a glass of local wine in your hands.
If this already sounds like a dream to you, get ready to live it with our sunset snowshoe hike in the forests of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame! A 3-hour hike with an expert environmental guide who will accompany you through fairytale landscapes, authentic flavours and a return under the stars with head torches. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
The appointment is at 15:30 at the meeting point in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (AO), where the environmental guide will be waiting for us with snowshoes and poles (included). After a quick briefing on the route and the use of snowshoes, we will be ready to set off.
We will enter an enchanted forest, with snow-covered larch and fir trees and silence enveloping us. The path is easy and within everyone's reach: 3 km of pure beauty with a slight difference in altitude of 200 m. As we walk, we may even come across some forest dwellers, such as hares, deer or even an ibex!
We will then stop at a cosy hut, just as the sunset paints the sky in unforgettable colours. Here we will toast with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, accompanied by a platter of local delicacies: cheeses, cold cuts and other Aosta Valley delicacies.
After refreshing ourselves and admiring the last glimmers of the day, we will turn on our headlamps and resume our walk towards Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. The descent will be an even more magical experience, with the forest illuminated by our lights and the starry sky accompanying us back to our starting point.
The experience lasts a total of about 3 hours.

This activity is at an easy level and is suitable for everyone from 6 years old and up. Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.

This activity takes place from December to April and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 8 participants.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
