Full description
John Rambo, get out of the way!
Join this basic survival course and change your approach to nature forever.
During this 2-day adventure in the Aspromonte National Park you will learn how to fend for yourself in the woods by challenging your limits, just like the iconic character. The only difference is that you can always count on the support of your instructor and the group!
What we will do
The appointment is Saturday afternoon at 14:00 at the meeting point in Terranova Sappo Minulio (RC) where our instructor will be waiting for us.
Once all participants have gathered, an introductory briefing will take place. This will be a fundamental moment, in which we will be explained what we will learn during the course, but above all, useful for getting to know the group.
Afterwards, we will walk to the woods at Zomaro, where we will set up our base camp according to the rules of no-trace camping. We will stop in a wooded area populated by moss-covered beech trees, in one of the most restricted spots ofAspromonte, with a view of both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas.
At 17:00 it will be time for the presentation of the so-called 'sacred order', i.e. the theoretical basis of survival techniques in nature. We will then move on to practice, with a demonstration of fire lighting using primitive techniques.
At 19:00, dinner prepared directly on the fire will be served. After the meal, we will venture on a night walk, during which we will learn how to orient ourselves with the stars and discover interesting facts about the indigenous nocturnal fauna.
The following morning after breakfast, training will be dedicated to the search for and construction of shelters, and we will try our hand at building a single shelter until lunchtime, scheduled for 12 noon.
In the afternoon, the programme includes learning modern fire lighting techniques. We will then move on to a theoretical explanation on theuse of blades, and finally we will find out what the main knots are for outdoor and bushcraft.
The experience will end on Sunday afternoon at 17:00, at the end of which we will receive a certificate of participation.
