Full description
Take aboat trip to discover the most beautiful caves in Santa Maria di Leuca.
You will sail along the Adriatic side, past Punta Meliso and numerous caves, such as the suggestive Grotta Cazzafri and Grotta della Vora, or you can explore the Ionian side near Punta Ristola, where you will visit Grotta Porcinara, Grotta del Diavolo, and many others.
During the tour, you can also enjoy a dip in the beautiful Apulian sea. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will meet at the marina in Santa Maria di Leuca, where the skipper will be waiting for us. Once everyone is seated on board, we will set off for the most beautiful caves on the Adriatic or Ionian sides. We will decide together with the skipper which direction to take, also depending on the weather conditions.
The route on the Ionian side will take us to the Grotta Porcinara, followed immediately by the Grotta del Diavolo, which owes its name to a popular legend. According to the locals, groans came from the bottom of the cave, probably caused by the flow of air and water between the cracks in the rocks.
On the Adriatic side, on the other hand, we can admire Grotta Cazzafri, a Greek name meaning sponge house and derived from the foam of the sea waves that often fills the entrance. We will then continue on to Grotta Terradico, Grotta del Soffio and Grotta della Vora.
Both excursions include a swim stop near the caves. We will thus be able to enjoy the crystal-clear sea and swim at the most beautiful spots along the Salento coastline.
We will then return to the port of departure by crossing the bay again and from the boat we can admire the 'bagnarole'. These are masonry chambers in which women in the past could shelter from prying eyes while bathing in the sea. The excursion lasts a total of one and a half hours.

Children under the age of 3 can board free of charge.
The 8-metreboat is equipped with awning, shower, fridge for drinks and music, and all necessary safety equipment. Small dogs are welcome on board.
