Experience canoeing at the source of the Pescara river and master the currents in the company of the whole family.
A scenic mini trek will complete the magic of this day. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
The meeting will take place at the meeting point in Popoli (PE), 15 minutes before the time selected at the time of booking. We will be welcomed by our expert guide, ready to lead us to discover the wonders of Abruzzo.
We will immediately set off along a route of about 300 metres to reach the point where we board our canoes. The guide will explain the operation of the boat to us, assigning us the one most suitable for us. To ensure maximum safety during our experience, the guide will remain at our side throughout our stay on the water.
The reserve we will be exploring is characterised by its crystal-clear water: we will have the unique opportunity to navigate the course of the Pescara river in complete respect for the ecosystem, carrying out our activity in the so-called buffer zone, about 300 metres outside the heart of the reserve.
We will descend the river in our canoes and then sail upstream upstream to our starting point. Along the way we will admire the Popoli Castle and the small village of the same name, a great variety of lush vegetation, and fascinating local fauna, symbolised by the coot, a bird that finds its ideal habitat in this area.
During the walking part of the trek, we will catch a glimpse of the resurgence with its unmistakable colours, and admire the flocks of birds and various animal species that inhabit the area. Bird watching will be the icing on the cake of our day!
After about 2 hours, about half of which will be spent canoeing and the other walking, we will return to the starting point. The route will be about 1 km long in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 5 years of age.
Children under the age of 18 may participate accompanied or by presenting a signed waiver.
The maximum weight allowed is 120 kg. If your weight is over 100 kg, please inform the organiser in advance.
The activity is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs.
Other information
The activity is available from April to December.
Each canoe can accommodate up to 3 people: 2 adults on the sides and 1 child in the middle. In the case of groups of 2 adults and 2 children or 2 adults and 3 children, please contact the organiser to find a solution that suits your needs.
Dogs are not allowed.
The organiser will provide a space to store your personal belongings.
You can bring or request a waterproof bag from the organiser.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport; parking is available on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
