Get ready for a truly exciting experience with a private tour to discover the most beautiful caves in Salento. But the adventure doesn't end there: you can fish for sea urchins and enjoy them directly on board.
Together with the captain, you can decide which caves to visit and where to stop for a dip in the clear, transparent waters of the Adriatic or Ionian coast.
It is a relaxing experience but one that will give you plenty of thrills: you will feel an incredible sense of satisfaction when you taste what you have caught yourself. Anexciting adventure awaits you!
What we will do
You will meet the skipper at the port of Santa Maria di Leuca at the time selected during the booking process. From here you will set sail to the caves you want to visit: just tell the skipper and he will take you to discover the secrets of the place. Alternatively, you can let him advise you.
There are so many caves to choose from and they are all suggestive. For example, the Grotta degli Indiani, with its shape evoking the ancient tents of the American Indians, or the Grotta del Presepe, which takes its name from its resemblance to the nativity scene. Or the Grotta delle Tre Porte, with its tunnel full of stalactites and stalagmites.
Then the skipper will show you the best spot for sea urchin fishing. You will dive and together with him you will discover the best technique to collect them from the seabed. Everyone will bring their catch on board and you will be able to enjoy them fresh together with a glass of bubbly and some Salento snacks.
You will return to port after about six hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all. The minimum age for participation is 1 year.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round with the exception of the period between 1 May and 30 June, as the sea urchin fishing ban comes into force.
You will board an 8-metre boat with cushions and awning, which can accommodate up to 12 people.
