Full description
Set off on a trekking tour to the highest point of Monte Circeo, reach the Picco di Circe and discover a wonderful place where legend and nature intertwine.
Together with a hiking guide, you will walk a circular route starting and returning to Torre Paola, through paths immersed in the Mediterranean maquis.
The lush nature of the Circeo National Park and the beautiful landscapes on the Tyrrhenian Sea will accompany you throughout the entire experience.
What we will do
We will meet at 8.30 a.m. at Torre Paola, in San Felice Circeo in the province of Latina. From here we will take the dirt track that leads into the Circeo National Park. We will cross a dense wood, rich in plant and animal species that the guide will be pleased to describe and point out to us.
After the ascent through the wood we will take our first break. Time to catch our breath and another ascent awaits us to reach Picco d'Istria. In this section the ascent is steep and rocky and we have to help ourselves to the rocks with our hands. The effort, however, is rewarded by the magnificent view of Lake Paola and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
At this exceptional vantage point, we will take a second break, during which the guide will tell us the story of Ulysses and Circe the Sorceress, who, according to Homeric legend, took place right here!
We will then continue towards Circe's Peak by walking along the rocky ridge. Here we will stop for about half an hour for a picnic lunch and then begin the descent back to Torre Paola.
In total, we will cover about 7 km with 600 metres of altitude difference. We will be back in San Felice circeo by 13:00.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate level and is aimed at hikers with good training. You can participate from 12 years of age.
Other information
This activity can be carried out all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 6 participants.
Should the minimum number of 4 participants not be reached, the excursion can still be carried out on request at a higher price. Please contact us privately for more information.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
