Full description
If you find a friend (a four-legged one with a keen sense of smell) , you’ve found a treasure! That’s right, because it’ll be that very friend who finds… the truffle!
Join a truffle hunt in Monforte d’Alba, amidst the stunning Langhe countryside, accompanied by a truffle-hunting dog and an expert truffle hunter. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the La Briacca winery, followed by an exclusive tasting featuring four glasses of wine and traditional Piedmontese specialities flavoured with truffles.
An immersive experience lasting around 4 hours in total to satisfy your thirst for discovery and delight your palate!
What we will do
The meeting is at the selected time at the La Briacca Winery in Monforte d’Alba, in the province of Cuneo, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Langhe. Waiting for us will be our guide, as well as the truffle hunter with his ever-present truffle-hunting dog.
We’ll head straight into the woods, situated just a stone’s throw from the winery. Here, the truffle hunter will share stories and interesting facts about this prized fungus, whilst we watch the dog in action as it sniffs the ground. Depending on the season (and our luck) , we may find black truffles in summer or the prized white truffles in winter. The hunt will last about an hour and a half, and any truffles found can even be purchased!
Once the hunt in the woods is over, we’ll return to the estate to begin a 30–45-minute guided tour of the winery , where we’ll discover the production process and the estate’s philosophy.
We’ll then move on to the tasting, which will take place in the indoor tasting room or outdoors in the Wine Garden, weather permitting. We’ll taste four glasses of wine (1 Rosso Briacca, 1 Barbera d’Alba, 1 Langhe Nebbiolo and 1 Barolo) paired with a generous platter of typical Langhe specialities. Among the delicacies on offer, we’ll sample Fassona beef bonbons with truffles and hazelnuts, pancetta cured in Barolo, dry-cured salami, hard-boiled eggs with truffle tuna sauce, truffle cheese, herb-flavoured cheese, Langa toma and gorgonzola with walnuts, canapés with truffle butter, bread with salsa verde, tomato bruschetta, honey, jam, toasted hazelnuts and a delicious hazelnut cake to finish.
The experience will last approximately 4 hours in total.
