Full description

Dominate Lake Garda from above along the Via Ferrata of the Sentiero dei Contrabbandieri.

The path is an extraordinary panoramic route carved out of the rock that runs horizontally. You will tackle the route in a roped party, taking advantage of the many pitons planted in the rock, even carrying out small suspended climbs to reach the points where the path begins again.

Alpine guides will accompany you to ensure maximum safety... and fun! During the entire duration of the hike, approximately 4 hours, you will enjoy the wonderful view of the calm waters of Lake Garda.

What we will do

We will meet in Arco (TN), where an Alpine Guide will be waiting for us to accompany us along this spectacular path carved out of the rock. We will have all theequipment to carry out the excursion in total safety.

We will take the Sentiero dei Contrabbandieri (Smugglers' Path) after having walked along the Ponale Road, which connects Riva del Garda to the Ledro Valley. It is one of the most beautiful panoramic stretches on the northern side of Lake Garda. Walking along the Ponale we will have the chance to admire a wonderful panorama of the lake protected by an imposing rock face.

Once we arrive at the Sentiero dei Contrabbandieri (Smugglers' Path), we will have an experience that is a mix of adrenaline, emotion and wonder. It is, in fact, a mountaineering route with short sections of ferrata, along which we will rope along, securing ourselves to the many pitons on the rock.

The path requires some small but exciting climbing. Traced into the live rock, it develops horizontally, a characteristic that makes it easy to walk, but in some places there are splits to be climbed with short suspended traverses. The difference in height, however, is minimal and the route is practically all flat.

Along the way, we have the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view from above. Firmly planted on the path at a height of 100 metres, we will admire the calm waters of Lake Garda furrowed by sailing boats and boats in navigation.

The excursion lasts about 4 hours.
