Full description

But do you know what manna is?

If the answer is no, all you have to do is find out by coming to Castelbuono (PA) in the Madonie Park, to the ash groves of the only Italian company in the world to produce and process this precious ingredient!

A 1½-hour experience, during which you’ll not only discover its countless uses but also take part in a walk through the hills, complete with a demonstration and a tasting session at the end!

What we will do

The meeting point is at the selected time at the ash grove in Castelbuono (PA), in the stunning setting of the Madonie Park. We will be welcomed by the guide who will accompany us on this journey of discovery into organic manna.

We’ll start with a walk of about an hour along the hillside where the ash grove is situated. Surrounded by greenery, the guide will tell us about the history of the area and explain the unique characteristics of the local microclimate. We’ll discover how, of the 13 existing species of ash tree, a specific one grows here –the only one in the world capable of producing manna.

Along the way, we’ll learn more about the ancient craft of the ‘mannaroli’ and the traditional tools they use every day for their work. We’ll then watch a live demonstration of the techniques used to extract this precious resin.

Once the walk is over, it will be time to taste the manna and discover its countless uses: from a natural sweetener in food to nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.

The experience will last approximately one and a half hours .
