Full description
A wine tasting like a king (or queen! ): this is what awaits you at the Castello di Corbara winery, located right next to Lake Corbara amidst woods, hills and lush vineyards.
Together with a guide, you will explore the entire production process, from tending the rows to bottling.
A 2-hour experience, crowned by a tasting of 4 glasses and a rich platter of local specialities!
What we will do
The tour starts at the selected time at the Castello di Corbara Winery near Orvieto (TR), set against the backdrop of the lake of the same name. We’ll be welcomed by our guide, who’ll accompany us on this journey into the world of wine.
We’ll begin the tour with a walk through the vineyards and the surrounding hills (weather permitting) , to soak up the atmosphere of the estate. We’ll then continue with a tour of the winery, visiting all the production rooms where we’ll be shown the machinery and the stages of winemaking, right through to the final stage of bottling. We’ll also have the opportunity to see the barrique cellar, dedicated to the delicate process of ageing the wines.
For the final part of the experience, we’ll head upstairs to a dedicated tasting room. Here we’ll sample four glasses of wines representative of the estate’s production: Grechetto ( Umbria IGT, a native grape variety) , Pianagrande ( Orvieto Classico Superiore DOC) , Mariagrazia ( Umbria IGT, a rosé made from Sangiovese grapes) and Podere Il Caio ( Umbria IGT, Sangiovese-Merlot blend) .
The wines will be served alongside a delicious platter of local cured meats, cheeses and focaccia, to bring out the authentic flavours of Umbria. The guide will provide detailed explanations of each wine, ensuring an informative and enjoyable tasting experience.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.
