Full description
Together we explore the Val Maor canyon carved by water into the rock at Borgo Valbelluna, descending to a depth of about 60 metres.
We will proceed along a 2 km route, among pools of water to swim in and rocks to overcome.
A bit of effort will be required, but we will be rewarded by the wonderful scenery of stratified rocks, vegetation, and sunlight filtering through the central fissure to create beautiful plays of light with the water flowing inside the canyon. It will be like exploring the depths of the earth!
What we will do
The appointment is at 09:30 at the meeting point in Borgo Valbelluna (BL). Awaiting us will be the guide who will accompany us on this canyoning adventure!
We will start dressing up and in the meantime we will have a short briefing. We will discover the peculiarities of the environment in which we will find ourselves and learn how to use the necessary equipment to face the experience such as the rope and the descender.
We will then take the minibus , which will take us up the canyon in about 15 minutes. We will approach the entrance to the gorge by walking for five minutes and then enter the water.
We will proceed mostly horizontally, swimming in the pools of water and overcoming the rocks we encounter along the way. We will also tackle some not too high abseiling and dives from 6-metre high rocks. There will be no shortage of fun toboggans, natural slides carved into the rock by the flow of water.
Among the most fun attractions will be the 11-metre zipline that ends in the middle of the water. In some sections, we will need to use a torch to light the way: an atmospheric experience that will make us feel like real explorers in the depths of the earth.
The walking time is at least two and a half hours. We will then have a 30-minute walk back to the van which will take us to the point where we will have met each other where we can dry off and change in the kiosk.
In total, the experience will last about 3½ hours.
