Canyoning, or canyoneering, is an aquatic discipline that involves exploring ravines, the deep rocky gorges carved out over time by the flow of streams. While canyoning, people walk along the waterway, diving into natural pools, jumping from rock to rock, climbing and rappelling. This is why it is often called a mix of mountaineering and water sports.
A famous element of canyoning are the toboggans, the natural slides carved by the flow of water, found on almost every trail. The viability of the activity relies on the presence of certified mountain guides who provide the necessary wetsuit, technical equipment and assistance. Before venturing into the canyon, the guide holds a briefing on progression techniques and safety rules. Then, you are ready to go!
Canyoning is an activity suitable for everyone. It requires no special physical skills or previous experience. All you need is to be in good health, not be afraid of water and choose the course best suited to your level. The recommended period for canyoning is generally from April to October.
There are several locations for canyoning in Veneto. Famous among enthusiasts are the Brent de l’Art in the Belluno Dolomites, spectacular rocky gorges with striated colors and shapes, a real eye-catcher.
Also in the province of Belluno, Val Maggiore is another location known for canyoning. The trails in this area are believed to be by many the most fun in the Veneto region. If you’re looking for a route suitable for families with children, consider going canyoning in Val Maor, in the municipality of Mel.
In the province of Verona, between the Adige River and Lake Garda, the canyon known as Vajo dell’Orsa promises excitement and fun at all levels. From the basic to the integral course, everyone can try and take on an adventure among water, rock, puddles and slides.
The price for a canyoning experience in Veneto depends on the location and type of route. For example, canyoning at Vajo dell’Orsa costs 60 euros per person in the family version. The price rises to 80 euros for the more adrenaline-fueled version. The fee always includes the provision of wetsuit, helmet, ropes and harness and accompaniment by a guide.
A canyoning activity can be a fun and original gift idea for a birthday, graduation or any other occasion. Gifting a canyoning course will allow you to experience an exciting adventure in nature and have a fun-filled day. Much better than gifting an item to keep locked in a drawer, isn’t it?
In addition, canyoning is an ideal activity to do in groups. It can be the perfect choice for team building events or to celebrate an important event such as a bachelor/bachelorette party.

I wanted to try canyoning, show to kids what might be fun, what can be advanture. We were for few days at Lago di Garda and all options there were fully booked. After some search I found Freedom company and place not that far from Torbole to drive and just do it. Communication was perfect, within few hours I was contacted on WhatsApp and my reservation was confirmed. So next day we went towards the advanture.nAnd it was worth of the price, worth of the effort to find and not to take the first available. The guid Coco (I hope pronounce correctly) was experienced, friendly, eager to make it fun. And we have had fun all the time. Thank you to whole Freedom team, maybe next time another adrenaline advanture. Ales from Czech Republic

An unforgettable experience to do at least once in a lifetime! Immersed in nature, discovering the magic, power and force of water, accompanied by a very helpful and friendly guide! A few days later I received the photos of the experience, the only drawback was that, despite having asked several times for the videos that had been shot, I no longer received either an answer or the videos...pity!

I tried my first canyoning experience and it was a blast! Lorenzo is a very knowledgeable guide, he knows how to transmit calm, confidence and enthusiasm! The group is 'canyon addicted', has a cosy venue, knows how to make you feel comfortable and provides you with the appropriate assistance. The next day I received the link to the photos! I recommend it. Thank you and see you soon!

Truly one of the most beautiful experiences ever. To discover so much beauty here on our doorstep was a happy surprise! The guide, Paolo, was really good. He accompanied us calmly and safely, teaching us things from time to time. In the more 'challenging' passages Paolo knew how to guide you and it was exciting! I really enjoyed it! Super recommended!

Beautiful experience. After a long climb, the fun begins. There were four of us in the group with guide Andrea. Bravo for making us enjoy every moment of the experience, always in total safety. The place is well worth it. Absolutely "adventure" that I recommend to everyone and that I will definitely do again.

Great experience, the tour is very nice. We booked it as an arrival for a stag party. As a level of difficulty I would say more intermediate than easy as it includes dives from heights of 5 m. The only downside was that the guide's GoPro was broken and we didn't get any pictures of the experience.
