If horses are your passion, as well as wine and quality food, you absolutely cannot miss the horseback ride with tasting in Sicily's Alcantara Valley .
The excursion will let you discover torrents, gorges, waterfalls and other beautiful natural sights of the Alcantara Valley, an area very different from the better known, sea-kissed Sicily. The route will also take you to the area's wine cellars for a tasting of wines and typical products.

What we will do
The appointment is at the Castiglione di Sicilia (CT) estate. Once there, we will be welcomed by an expert guide who will familiarise us from the start with our four-legged friends, explaining the rudiments of horse riding.
We will then climb into the saddle and set off on this pleasant excursion along the banks of the Alcantara river. We will proceed at a leisurely pace, crossing the typical landscape of the Sicilian countryside and admiring vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees. We will haveEtna and the beautiful Alcantara Gorge in the background.
The route will then take us to the winery, where experts will explain the secrets of winemaking. Sicily is after all rich in DOC wine producers, such as the Firriato winery, the Patria winery and the Tornatore winery.
Finally, we will be offered a wine tasting accompanied by a platter of cold cuts and typical local products. The activity lasts a total of 4 hours and ends with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone aged 15 years and over and weighing no more than 100 kg. No previous horse riding experience is necessary.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The excursion is available all year round, with the exception of Sundays as the winery is closed.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
