Full description
Ride through the trails of the Val di Cornia in Tuscany, immersing yourself in a bucolic landscape of olive groves and vineyards. After an introductory briefing with your guide, you will climb into the saddle to tackle a 19 km-long flat ride.
When you reach the Cornia river, you will ride along the banks and ford a short stretch of the river on your horse, conditions permitting.
After a 2-hour ride, you will return to the riding school to end the day with a nice barbecue in the company of friends!
What we will do
We will meet at the stables in Suvereto (LI), at the time chosen for the excursion.
Here, our horse and the guide who will accompany us on the walk will be waiting for us. Once we arrive, we will get to know and become familiar with the horse we will be assigned. The instructor will then give us a 10-minute briefing on how to handle the horse and how to ride it.
After this introductory part, we will set off on our walk through the Val di Cornia. We will follow a 19 km flat route that will allow us to admire the olive groves and rows of vines in this corner of Tuscany, between the Maremma of Livorno and Grosseto.
The walk will also include a very exciting moment. In fact, if conditions permit, we will ford on horseback a small stretch of the Cornia river, which crosses the valley to flow near Piombino.
After a two-hour ride, we will return to the stables to refresh ourselves with a barbecue of grilled meat, accompanied by a hors d'oeuvre, wine and local olive oil.
Between the walk and the barbecue, the activity will last about 3½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The walk is suitable for everyone, even beginners from 14 years of age . Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
For the welfare of the horses, there is a weight limit of 100 kg.

The walk is held all year round and every day of the week and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
In the event of food allergies or intolerances, please inform the organisers in advance at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email. Vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free variants are possible on request.
Thecrossing of the Cornia river depends on the hydrometric conditions , which the guide always checks before the ride.
Saddles for English and western riding are available.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
