Horseback riding with picnic and wine tasting in Casale Marittimo

Out-of-town excursion in Tuscany? Here is an idea for spending a wonderful day of adventure and taste in Casale Marittimo, in the province of Pisa.

Start with a 1- or 2-hour horseback ride among hills and vineyards and immerse yourself in the Macchia della Magona nature reserve, riding in the company of a guide.

On your return from the ride, a picnic with seasonal products and a tasting of 3 wines fromAzienda Agricola Toscani awaits you. Raise your glasses, it's time to toast!

What we will do

The meeting point is Casale Marittimo (PI), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.

Here, we will be greeted by our guide, who will welcome us to the Toscani family ranch and give us a short briefing before the ride, to allow us to get familiar with our horse and go over the main commands.

Once in the saddle, we will ride through the ranch grounds, passing vineyards, olive groves and the horses' paddocks. We will then venture along dirt country roads and hilly paths characterised by slight gradients, which will lead us to the Macchia della Magona nature reserve. During the walk, we will be able to admire splendid views of the village of Casale Marittimo and the nearby Tuscan coast.

We will return to the ranch after a 1- or 2-hour walk (depending on the duration chosen when booking), ready to recharge our batteries with a picnic of Tuscan delicacies. We will be seated in the tasting room in front of the stables and here we can enjoy specialities such as pappa al pomodoro, bruschetta and roasted vegetables (the products will change according to seasonality).

We will also have the opportunity to taste three ofAzienda Agricola Toscani's wines, two reds and an ancestral method, discovering their characteristics and the winery's philosophy, which is dedicated to completely sustainable winemaking.

The activity will last a total of 2 or 3 hours, depending on the walk chosen.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for people with a minimum of riding experience. Beginners can also participate, provided they are a little adventurous, as the route includes some gradients and the guide will accompany the group on horseback.

The minimum age is 14 years. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The wine tasting is reserved exclusively for participants over the age of 18.

Other information

The activity can take place all year round (daily from October to May; Monday to Friday from June to September). A minimum number of 2 people is required to confirm it.

The mount used is the American mount .

The cost does not include the daily insurance card, payable locally from €5.
