Night snowshoeing in Valle Grana

Imagine walking under a starry sky, with snow crunching under your steps and moonlight drawing magical shadows on the landscape.

This night snowshoe hike in Valle Grana, in the province of Cuneo, is a unique experience that will allow you to experience the mountains in a completely new way. Surrender to the enchanted silence of the snow-covered peaks as you walk for 3 hours with snowshoes on your feet.

On the way through snow-covered forests and pastures, your guide will tell you stories and legends about this little-known area. Switch on your torch, we're off!

What we will do

The meeting is at 18:00 in Caraglio (CN).

Here we will find our guide waiting for us and, after a brief introduction, we will receive snowshoes and poles. We will then move to the place where our adventure will begin, each in our own car, a maximum of 30 minutes away from the meeting point.

Once we arrive at our destination, it will be time to put on our snowshoes and begin our walk, a 5 km route with an altitude difference of 300 metres, with no challenging slopes or narrow paths.

We will walk under starlight, with torches to guide us through the snowy landscape of the upper Grana Valley. Each step will take us deeper into nature, among whitewashed pastures and woods, while the moon illuminates the ridges and valleys of Castelmagno.

Along the way, we will take a break to warm ourselves with tea and hot herbal teas from our water bottles, a perfect moment to listen to local stories and legends. Our guide will tell us about the Grana Valley, a hidden gem far from the usual tourist routes and home of the renowned Castelmagno cheese.

At the end of our 3-hour excursion, we will return to our starting point. Here we can decide to end the evening with a delicious dinner in a local establishment (if interested, please select this option when booking).

The total duration of the experience will be about 4 hours, including activities and transfers. Those who choose to stay for dinner as well will stay about 1.5 hours longer.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from 7 years of age or with at least 32 feet.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Other information

The experience takes place on Saturdays from 26 December to the end of February and is confirmed with a minimum number of 6 people.

In the absence of snow, the activity can still be carried out but without the use of snowshoes. In this case, you will be notified in advance by the guide and you can agree with her whether to cancel or postpone the activity to a new date.

Dinner on return from the snowshoe hike is optional and can be added at the time of booking by choosing the "snowshoe hike + dinner" alternative. The dinner includes an appetiser, a starter and a dessert (drinks not included) in a local restaurant. Please inform the guide in advance of any food allergies or intolerances at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport and free parking spaces are available nearby.

Dogs may also participate, provided they are on a leash.
