Winter landscapes with snow-capped peaks and snow-adorned tree branches are the enchanting setting for snowshoeing. The snowshoes are special tools that you attach to the base of your boots to allow you to walk nimbly on the snow. They are suitable for adults and children and can be a good alternative to skiing, especially for those seeking a more intimate and direct contact with nature.

Snowshoe in Cuneo: discovering fairy-tale landscapes
The valleys of Monviso are the perfect setting for those who want to snowshoe in Cuneo. At the foot of the highest mountain in the Cottian Alps, you can follow scenic routes without missing the pleasure of a stop at a mountain lodge for a hot drink and a slice of homemade cake or to taste the typical dishes of Occitan cuisine.
Snowshoeing trails in and around Cuneo provide an opportunity to explore the most pristine areas of Piedmont, with striking landscapes characterized by Alpine peaks and small mountain villages that seem to belong in storybooks. Mountain Guides in the area also organize night snowshoeing or sunset hikes, for those who want to catch the special shades of sunset and have an even more exciting experience.
The best routes and trails to snowshoe in Cuneo
Among the best snowshoeing routes in Cuneo are those on Mount Mondolè. Starting in Prato Nevoso, you take the cable car to an elevation of 2,000 m, and from there you walk with snowshoes on a scenic trail that passes an alpine hut and a frozen pond.
Another recommended location for snowshoeing in the province of Cuneo is the Maira Valley. This valley is among the most pristine in Italy, remaining virtually untouched as it is little known to mass tourism. It is ideal for those who want to regenerate themselves while contemplating alpine landscapes in the total silence of nature.
Other areas in the Cuneo area where snowshoeing is possible are the Varaita Valley, the Stura Valley and the Po’ Valley, at the foot of Monviso, where Italy’s longest river has its source!
Snowshoeing with a mountain guide: info on prices and costs
The price of a snowshoe hike with a Mountain Guide depends on the location, duration, and type of experience. It starts at 20€ per person for an easy hike in Prato Nevoso and goes up to 40€ per person for a high altitude hike, in which the cable car ticket is included, as well as snowshoe rental.
Snowshoeing can also be done privately, with the accompaniment of an assigned Mountain Guide. In this case, prices are higher and can be as high as 100€ per person for a full-day outing.

Good organisation in...
Good organisation in general although I don't understand why on the confirmation email it always says to arrive 1/2 before the appointment time, when in reality the departure often takes place 1/2 after the meeting time (at least for those that have been the experiences with you) but no big deal. Good outing overall too bad to have caught the wrong day with low clouds and no view but this is obviously bad luck. I will definitely rely on you again for my next mountain and non-mountain experiences. Thank you
