Packrafting on the Aniene river in the province of Rome

Paddle, helmet, wetsuit and dinghy are all the ingredients you need for the perfect adrenaline cocktail. Come to the province of Rome and launch yourself into a new adventure with this packrafting activity.

You will descend the rapids of the Aniene river on board a single rubber dinghy while immersing yourself in the nature of the Monti Simbruini Park.

During the 3-hour activity, you will learn some interesting facts about the area and the best paddling techniques from a river guide, get carried away by the current, and paddle 5 km downstream. It will be an unforgettable experience!

What we will do

We will meet 30 minutes in advance in Subiaco (RM), where an experienced river guide will be waiting for us. Once our valuables have been placed in a storage room, we will be divided into crews and put on the necessarytechnical equipment. We will then have a briefing of about 15 minutes to learn the correct paddling techniques and, once ready, we will begin our packrafting adventure on the Aniene river.

The route is 5 km long and runs through the beautiful Monti Simbruini Park. On board the rubber dinghy, we will paddle for 2½ hours together with the river guide and juggle the rapids of the river. We will enjoy going down one waterfall after another and experience theadrenaline rush of swimming in the current.

We will be surrounded by the enchanting nature of the park, characterised by rich vegetation that we will be able to admire while the guide will tell us some brief anecdotes about the history of the area.

When we reach the valley, we will board a shuttle bus (included) which will take us back to our starting point in about 15 minutes. The experience, including briefing, lasts a total of 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for ages 16 and over. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate if a responsible adult signs a waiver.

It is not necessary to know how to swim, but one must be comfortable with water and be in good health.

Each participant should contact the facility at the contact details they will receive in their booking confirmation e-mail to communicate their height and weight in anticipation of the experience. The maximum weight allowed to participate is 130 kg.

Other information

The activity takes place on the days indicated in the calendar from the beginning of April to the end of October and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants. Each dinghy accommodates 1 person.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport. Free parking spaces are available in the vicinity. At the end of the experience, you will return to the starting point with a shuttle service included in the fee.

Storage facilities are available at the facility for small valuables such as mobile phones and wallets. If items are strictly necessary during the course of the activity, it will be possible to store them in a waterproof bag and take them with you.
