Full description
The Stretti di Giaredo are deep rock gorges located along the course of the Gordana torrent in Lunigiana (Massa Carrara). Crossing this spectacular place, walking along the stream's bed and then entering the gorges, will be anextraordinary and adventurous experience!
River trekking consists of crossing the path of a stream, and differs from canyoning in that it does not require the use of ropes or other artificial equipment. This makes it a suitable activity for everyone, young and old. The only requirement? Know how to swim.
Get ready to walk on the river bed, swim in crystal-clear pools and admire multicoloured walls over 20 metres high. The breathtaking contrast between the reflections of light on the water and the shadows of the rocks will leave you speechless!
What we will do
We will meet in Filattiera, in the province of Massa Carrara. There we will form the group and provide you with the necessaryequipment for the excursion (wetsuit, helmet and life jacket). Then, together with the guides we will drive to the small village of Cavezzana Gordana, where the actual excursion will begin.
We will follow a path that will take us to the stream in about 20 minutes, and there we will begin our adventure. We will explore the Stretti di Giaredo, walking in and out of the water, swimming through some crystal-clear pools, immersed in the extraordinary nature of these places, among impressive gorges and multicoloured rock walls. A truly unique sight!
At the end of the exploration, we will all return together to the car park, pick up the cars and head back to the meeting point to say goodbye and return our equipment. The activity lasts about 5 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is of an easy level and suitable for anyone in good health. The only requirement is to be able to swim. Children from 6 years of age are also admitted.
Other information
Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the starting time.
The activity takes place from Friday to Sunday in the months of April to September, and every day in July and August.
The excursion is confirmed when there are at least 6 participants and may be cancelled in the event of bad weather or changes in the water level.

Swimsuit and hiking or trainers with grip sole (no sandals, smooth-soled shoes or rock shoes allowed)
