Full description
Join us for a snowshoe hike to high altitudes, where space is so open you can breathe your heart out! Starting in Valtournenche, in the province of Aosta, we will climb effortlessly to an altitude of 2,000 metres, walking on fresh snow at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn.
A guide will lead us through sunny glades and coniferous forests until we reach the famous Blue Lake and a vantage point from which we can admire the whole of Valtournenche.
What we will do
The meeting with the guide is near Valtournenche, in the province of Aosta. After a briefing on the activity, we will be given snowshoes and poles (included in the fee) and set off on our snowshoe hike towards one of the most beautiful and unspoilt sites at the foot of the Matterhorn.
Together with the guide, we will hike along an approximately 5 km route through a peaceful forest area rich in alpine fauna. We will leave behind the famous Matterhorn Ski-Paradise to reach a viewpoint over the entire Valtournenche.
We will cross sunny glades and coniferous forests, admiring in front of us the majestic 'Gran Becca', the mountain that dominates the Breuil basin. Finally, we will reach the splendid Blue Lake, whose clear waters in summer reflect the imposing image of the Matterhorn.
The circular route, with an altitude difference of 100 metres, is easy and suitable for everyone. The activity lasts about 3 hours and ends with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone over the age of 8.
