Your favourite photo this winter? It will be the one in which you are snowshoeing under the Pale di San Martino!
From San Martino di Castrozza you will set off through the woods north of the village, following an easy itinerary suitable for everyone, which will take you past some of the most iconic views of the Dolomites.
With an Alpine Guide at your side, you will experience a 3½-hour hike through fresh snow and stunning views: a unique way to breathe in Trentino winter!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before 9: 30 a. m. at the meeting point in San Martino di Castrozza (TN). A mountain guide will be waiting for us, ready to introduce us to the activity.
We will receive snowshoes and poles, included in the price, and participate in a short pre-departure briefing: how to adjust the snowshoes, how to walk on the snow, how to best manage the route.
We will then set off to the north of the village, entering the Orti Forestali woods: a quiet and protected environment, perfect for getting familiar with snowshoes. We will continue along gentle paths until we reach the Malga Ces area, one of the most scenic points of the excursion. Here we will stop for a break, with the opportunity to observe the Pale di San Martino in all their grandeur.
The route will continue in a loop, gradually taking us back to the town, always accompanied by alternating glades, woods and views of the surrounding mountains. In total, we will cover about 5 km, with a difference in altitude of about 200 metres.
We will finally return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 3½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
Participation is possible from the age of 6. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult; over 14s can also participate alone.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoe hike.
Other information
The activity takes place every day from 20 December to the end of March and is confirmed on reaching a minimum number of 8 participants.
The itinerary may vary depending on snow and weather conditions and the ability of the group, at the guide's discretion.
Leashed dogs are allowed.
If there is no snow, the experience will be offered as a snow trek with crampons, subject to the participants' acceptance.
There is free parking on site and the meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
