Sunset snowshoeing with aperitif at Passo Valles in the Dolomites

Forget après-ski: the top aperitif in the Dolomites can be enjoyed with snowshoes on your feet and the Pale di San Martino peaks turning pink before your eyes!

Join a snowshoe hike at sunset at Passo Valles and admire the mountains changing colour, while enjoying an aperitif 'set' in the snow, with prosecco, mulled wine, cheese, cold cuts and sweets.

A four-hour adventure in the company of a hiking guide, who knows all the best spots!

What we will do

The meeting point is 30 minutes before the selected time at Passo Valles, near San Martino di Castrozza (TN). Here we will meet our hiking guide and receive snowshoes and poles (included) for the hike.

After a briefing on snowshoeing and safety, we will begin our snowshoe hike. We will tackle an initial 1 km stretch on a snowy road, then depending on the level of the group, the guide will choose a variant of the route. In the easier variant, we will continue for about 2 km, then climb up gentle slopes leading to a large natural terrace overlooking the Pale di San Martino peaks illuminated by the sunset.

In the slightly more challenging variant, on the other hand, we will enter the forest to reach a small belvedere at altitude, with the same golden panorama of the peaks. In both cases, the guide will set up an aperitif at the most scenic spot on the route, with a tablecloth and fir branches decorating our table in the snow. We will toast with prosecco, mulled wine or a warm infusion, depending on our preference, and taste cheeses, cold meats, breads and cakes brought by the guide.

After the toast and the customary photos, we will return to the starting point. The route will be 4 or 5 km long (depending on the variant chosen) , with 180 m of altitude difference. The duration will be about 4 hours, with 2½ hours of actual snowshoeing.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for 12 years and older; children under 18 must participate accompanied by an adult.

The activity is of an easy level and suitable as a first snowshoe hi ke; the route has no exposed sections.

Other information

The experience takes place from December to March, Thursdays and Saturdays, and is confirmed once the minimum number of 5 participants has been reached.

The guide may choose a different variant or partially modify the itinerary depending on snow and weather conditions and the experience of the group. In the event of heavy snowfall the Valles Pass may temporarily close: communications will follow for possible alternatives.

Alternatives are available in the event of food allergies or intolerances: these must be reported in advance to the contact details given in the email confirming your booking.

Dogs are allowed, as long as they are quiet and preferably kept on a leash. Please communicate their presence in advance to the contact details indicated in your booking confirmation email.

Free parking spaces are available on site. The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport.
