Snowshoeing through woods and alpine pastures in Valle Grana

Have you ever dreamed of leaving the world behind and immersing yourself in a fairytale landscape? The Grana Valley, a hidden jewel of the Piedmontese Alps, awaits you for a magical adventure: a 5-hour snowshoe hike through its forests and silent alpine pastures.

This valley off the beaten track is the ideal retreat for nature lovers. Walking with snowshoes on fresh snow together with your guide, you will discover many curiosities and legends about this area.

What we will do

The meeting point is in Caraglio (CN), at the time chosen when booking.

Here we will meet our guide and, after a brief introduction, receive snowshoes and poles. We will then move to the starting point of the hike, each in our own car, a maximum of 30 minutes away from Caraglio.

Once there, having donned our snowshoes, we will set off along the quiet paths of the Grana Valley. We will cross fairytale forests and snow-covered pastures, while the guide will tell us stories and local legends.

The route will be easy, with no steep inclines, perfect for enjoying the landscape and the company; we will cover 8 km, with 300 metres of altitude difference. More or less halfway along, we will take a break to warm up with tea and herbal teas from our water bottles, while we admire the views of the Castelmagno ridges and valleys and take a few photos of the landscape.

At the end of our 5-hour hike, we return to our starting point. Here we can decide to continue the day with an excellent lunch in a local restaurant (select this option when booking).

The total duration of the experience will be about 6 hours, including activities and transfers. Those who choose to stay for lunch as well will stay about 1.5 hours longer.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from 7 years of age or with at least 32 feet.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Other information

The experience takes place on Sundays in January and February and is confirmed with a minimum number of 6 people.

For groups of 6 people, the activity is also available on request on dates other than those indicated in the calendar. Contact us to check availability of the guide.

In the absence of snow, the activity can still be carried out but without the use of snowshoes. In this case, you will be notified in advance by the guide and you can agree with her whether to cancel or postpone the activity to a new date.

Lunch on return from the snowshoe hike is optional and can be added at the time of booking by choosing the "snowshoe hike + lunch" alternative. Lunch includes an appetiser, a starter and a dessert (drinks not included) in a local restaurant. Please inform the guide in advance of any food allergies or intolerances at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.

Dogs may also participate, provided they are on a leash.
