Zipline in the Lucanian Dolomites: single flight

We set you a challenge: fly at 120 km/h suspended in a vacuum. Are you up for it?

In the heart of Basilicata, among the imposing spires of the Lucanian Dolomites, you can enjoy a gravity-defying experience: the Zipline. You will glide on a steel cable between the perched villages of Castelmezzano and Pietrapertosa, enjoying the thrill of speed and spectacular views.

And when you think the adrenaline has reached its peak... you're off again! You will return to the summit for the second flight, the return flight.

What we will do

The adventure begins in the village of Castelmezzano(or Pietrapertosa, chosen at the time of booking), in the province of Potenza. We will meet 1 hour in advance at the ticket office for check-in and equipment check. Backpack, weight and clothing will be checked to ensure a safe flight.

After a short briefing, we will don harness and helmet, ready to reach the launch point. A trek of about 20 minutes will take us to the starting platform, at an altitude of about 1,000 metres.

We will be attached to the cable in a horizontal position, lying on our stomachs, like real angels in flight. Here, between the thrill of anticipation and the beauty of the view, the countdown will start: 3, 2, 1... GO!

With the first flight we will cover 1450 metres of zipline, with a drop of around 300 metres between start and finish, and reach dizzying speeds of up to 120 km/h. Within seconds we will be catapulted to the other side of the valley, with the landscape of the Lucanian Dolomites unfolding below us.

Upon arrival, a shuttle bus (included) will take us to the village entrance and then on foot we will reach the opposite mountain, from where we will begin a new ascent to reach the second launch point. A new challenge awaits us: another spectacular zipline back to the starting point.

Once at our destination, a final shuttle transfer (included) will take us back to the starting point, where we will finally be able to relive the experience through shots and videos of our flight.

The whole experience takes about 2 hours, including briefing, trekking, flight and transfer.

Who it is aimed at

Zipline flying is suitable for everyone aged 14 years and over and with a body weight between 40 kg and 120 kg.

The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

Other information

The zipline flight can take place from May to November at the times indicated in the calendar.

There is no on-site storage for personal belongings. You may take sunglasses and a small backpack with you during the flight.

For safety reasons, theuse of personal devices for photography and filming during the flight is prohibited, unless they are attached to your helmet with special authorisation from the on-site staff. After the flight, you can purchase photos taken by the staff for 5€ (1 photo) or 8€ (3 photos). If you want to film the whole experience, you can rent a video camera on site to film both flights.

The venue is easily accessible by public transport.
