Rafting on the Tiber River with a sunset toast in the heart of Rome

Immerse yourself in the'great beauty' of Rome with a sunset soft rafting adventure!

Paddle aboard an inflatable boat on the Tiber River and admire some of the city's iconic monuments around you, from Castel Sant'Angelo to St. Peter's Dome in the background.

And, to end the descent in the best possible way, treat yourself to a toast with your paddling companions!

What we will do

The appointment is at the meeting point in Rome, 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.

Here we will meet our guide and walk together to the embarkation point on the Tiber river. Before setting off, we will put on a helmet and life jacket and follow a briefing of about 15 minutes to go over the safety rules and main manoeuvres.

We will then board the dinghy and start paddling with rhythm and coordination, encouraged by our guide. The descent along the Tiber will be both enjoyable and adventurous at the same time: a 4-kilometre route that will take us between small rapids and calmer waters to admire the beauty of Rome, made even more spectacular by the colours of the sunset.

From the unique perspective of the dinghy we will be able to contemplate theAra Pacis Museum, the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Suffrage, the dome of St Peter 's in the background and Castel Sant'Angelo with its bridge decorated with statues. We will pass under the bridges Umberto I, Duca d'Aosta and Ponte San Sisto in the Trastevere area: one wonder after another!

At a quiet point along the way or towards the end, we will stop for a toast on board the dinghy, with prosecco for the adults and fruit juice for the children, accompanied by various savoury snacks.

We will finally land at theformer port of Ripa Grande, after about 1 hour and 15 minutes of descent. From here we can return to our starting point by public transport or continue our evening walk around Rome.

The total duration of the activity will be about 2 hours, including briefing, stops and rafting descent.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or have a signed authorisation.

It is not necessary to know how to swim to participate in this activity.

The activity is not suitable for pregnant women or people with mobility problems.

Other information

The experience is available from 15 June to 15 September and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.

Attention! Once you have landed at the former port of Ripa Grande, to return to the meeting point you will need to take public transport independently or undertake a walk of approximately 4 km.

Dinghies of different sizes are used for the descent, from 7 to 11 participants.

There are no changing rooms on site. Backpacks and bags can be deposited in an organisers' van, which will be waiting for participants at the landing point of the route. Personal belongings such as mobile phones and wallets can be stored in a waterproof bag provided by the organisers.

If you have any food allergies or intolerances, please inform the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email. It is not possible to guarantee vegan alternatives.

On request, it is possible to rent silicon shoe covers at a cost of 2€, to be paid on site.

For the safety of the descent, it is forbidden to take alcohol or drugs before the activity, under penalty of exclusion.

The meeting point can be easily reached by public transport, while cars are not recommended.
