If when you see a soft blanket of snow you can't wait to dive in, you're in.
Get ready to sink your feet into fresh snow by taking part in our snowshoe hike in Valmalenco! In the company of a guide, you will venture into the beautiful winter landscape in the shadow of the Bernina Massif and other peaks.
A 6-hour experience to fully enjoy the magic of winter!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before 9: 30 a. m. at the meeting point in Franscia, in the municipality of Lanzada (SO) . We will find the guide waiting for us, who will accompany us on this adventure in the snow!
Having gathered all the participants and after an initial presentation, we will each return to our own means of transport to reach the starting point of the snowshoe hike, about 30 minutes away by car. Before setting off, the guide will check that each participant's vehicle is equipped with snow tyres and/or chains in order to proceed along the narrow, snow-covered road.
Having received all the useful information for a carefree experience, we will venture into the beautiful natural setting of the Valmalenco! We will enter larch forests and cross summer pastures now covered in a white mantle; on the horizon we will be able to spot Pizzo Scalino, Monte Disgrazia and the Bernina Massif. Stops are planned along the way, as well as a break to enjoy a picnic lunch.
We will finally return to the meeting point after having covered approximately 10 km with a maximum altitude difference of +550 m. The snowshoe hike will last approx. 4 hours; the experience will last approx. 6 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The experience is suitable for those suffering from vertigo as the route does not include any overhangs.
Other information
The experience takes place on Sundays from January to March and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
Attention! The experience requires a transfer by own vehicle; chains are compulsory even with snow tyres.
Snowshoes and poles are not included and can be hired at an extra cost of €15: to request them, contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
Itinerary and duration may vary according to weather and snow conditions and participants' level of experience at the guide's discretion. Please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to communicate your experience level.
Leashed dogs are allowed: contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate the presence of your four-legged friend. Shadow, the guide's 'shadow' dog, will also participate in the experience.
Accident insurance supplement is available: if you wish to take out the service at a cost of €5. 00 per person to be paid on site, please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail, stating your name, surname and tax code.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
