Snowshoeing in Valmalenco

If when you see a soft blanket of snow you can't wait to dive in, you're in.

Put on your snowshoes and sink your feet into the fresh snow by taking part in our snowshoe hike in Valmalenco! In the company of a guide you will venture into the beautiful winter landscape, in the shadow of the Bernina Massif and other peaks.

A 6-hour experience to fully enjoy the magic of winter!

What we will do

I will be waiting for you 15 minutes before 10:00 a.m. at the meeting point in Lanzada (SO), at Franscia. I will be there to welcome you, your guide in this snow experience!

Upon your arrival, we will get to know each other. I will check that your vehicle is equipped with snow tyres and/or chains to enable you to proceed along the narrow, snow-covered road. We will then each board our own vehicle and reach the starting point of the snowshoe hike, which is about 30 minutes away by car.

Having donned theequipment, we will venture into the splendid natural setting of the Valmalenco: we will enter larch forests and cross summer pastures now covered in a white mantle. On the horizon we will be able to spot Pizzo Scalino, Monte Disgrazia and the Bernina Massif. Stops are planned along the way, as well as a break to enjoy a packed lunch.

We will finally return to the meeting point after having covered a maximum of 10 km with a maximum altitude difference of +550 m. The snowshoe hike will last 4 hours; the experience will last a total of 6 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 10; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

This activity does not disturb those who suffer from vertigo; there are no overhangs along the route.

Other information

Attention! A transfer by own vehicle is foreseen; chains are also required in case of snow tyres.

The experience takes place from January to April on the dates indicated (calendar constantly being updated) and is confirmed on reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.

The duration of the activity may vary depending on the experience level of the participants (6 to 8 hours). Please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to communicate your experience level.

The meeting point is not accessible by public transport.

There is a car park on site.

Dogs can participate in this activity if they are kept on a leash at all times and are used to people and dogs. Shadow, the guide's 'shadow' dog, who is also kept on a leash at all times, will also take part in the experience.
