Fantastic experience! I hired a boat without a licence quickly and without complications. The 40 hp engine combined with a fibreglass boat (which weighs twice as much as a dinghy) should be boosted a little as far as possible, as the significant swell around Venice makes it difficult, especially when four people are in the boat.
