A magical place, the most beautiful in the Pollino National Park
Perfect excursion! According to many who know the area well, the Giardino degli Dei (between Serra di Crispo and Serra delle Ciavole) is the most beautiful place in the Pollino Park. For me, it was my first time there, but I think they are right. It is a truly magical place, full of incredible old trees, where you walk in the company of horses and cows. When you get up there at 2000 m the view is exciting, you are at the foot of the highest peaks: Serra Dolcedorme (2267 m) and Monte Pollino (2248 m). The route is suitable for everyone. Free of technical difficulties. Out of eight hours, the walking time is four. A bit of a climb, but not too much. Lots of sun, but also long stretches of refreshment in the shade of the forest. In July, the heat was not prohibitive. Thanks to Francesco and Silvio for conceiving and organising such a beautiful experience, including breaks to savour all that beauty!
