17 Aug 2025 | Trekking tour to the Murgia Park and Tibetan Bridge in Matera

Unique and fascinating experience: Matera is not just stones

A very beautiful and certainly unique experience. There was a small organisational delay of 30 metres, which wasn't a big problem, except that the final part of the tour was done in the dark (20 minutes). Once we arrived at the site, the tour began and the guide (Michele G.) was really good at telling us about Matera from 1,000 different angles and with an obsessive attention to all the most curious details (which many others would have ignored or even not known about): from the city districts to the Murgia rocks, from aromatic plants to the rock churches. We stopped to see cisterns, millstones, churches, paths, plants, caves and finally the Tibetan bridge. I recommend it to anyone because it is really fascinating, provided you are a little agile. The hike is easy, but you have to crouch down and in some places cling to rocks. Well done Michele G, our guide
