There are no requirements to fly in a helicopter; anyone can try the experience, both in terms of sightseeing flights and pilot tests. Aircraft used for this type of activity generally carry up to 3 people plus the pilot.
For one-day pilot experiences, on the other hand, dual-controlled two-seater helicopters are used. These types of helicopters can be flown by the student with the assurance that, in case of an emergency, the instructor will be ready to intervene instantly. Before taking off, of course, a theoretical lecture is given on the basic principles and techniques for flying.
Helicopter sightseeing tours in Milan start from the city center. You take off from a helipad set atop a skyscraper and fly over the urban center with all its attractions. Flying over Milan, you get to enjoy spectacular views of cityscapes and enormously valuable architectural works such as the Bosco Verticale, the Unicredit Tower and the Duomo.
Those who prefer natural scenery, however, can take off from the small airport in Bresso, north of the city, and fly to the Brianza Lakes. Lake Pusiano, Annone, and Garlate will appear as blue pearls set among the foothills of the Lombard Pre-Alps – a real show!
Prices for a helicopter flight in Milan depend on the type and duration of the flight. You can choose a group flight or a private helicopter tour. To get an idea: a group flight of about 40 minutes costs 285 euros per person. The same flight, on a private basis, costs 850 euros for booking the entire helicopter (a rate that is to be split among the participants, 3 at most).
A pilot test in Milan costs 365 euros per person, lasts 1 hour with 30 minutes of actual flight time, and includes one-on-one mentoring by the pilot.
