What you need to know before a snowmobile tour in Veneto

Are you a beginner and want to know how to ride a snowmobile? No problem, before departing the instructors always conduct a briefing in which they explain the main commands, safety rules to be maintained and rules of conduct for any situation that may arise along the way.

After a little practice getting familiar with the vehicle, you’ll be ready to venture into snowy woods and trails. The only requirement to ride the snowmobile is to have a B license. If you plan to take your children with you or other minors, check at the time of booking the minimum age for the passenger aboard the snowmobile, a limit that may vary from center to center.

The best places to go snowmobiling in the Venetian Dolomites

Snowmobile tours, while still not a popular activity, are beginning to be offered in almost all major mountain resorts. Some destinations, however, hold unparalleled appeal. If you are on vacation in the Belluno Dolomites, perhaps in Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of the iconic places to take a snowmobile tour in the Veneto region is the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are reached starting from Misurina, on a route full of charm and enriched by breathtaking views.

Other interesting routes are those leading to Mt. Piana and Croda da Lago. Starting from Sappada, in the province of Udine in Friuli Venezia Giulia, just a few kilometers from the border with Veneto, you can reach Piave, Digola Pass, and Pian del Sir. All the destinations mentioned offer fairy-tale landscapes and total immersion in the magical atmosphere of snow.

Snowmobiling and an after-tour dinner: a mix not to be missed

What can make an experience like this even more special? Of course, a taste of typical mountain cuisine! A snowmobile tour, in fact, can be combined with a lunch or dinner at a mountain lodge to enjoy typical dishes and local wines in a warm and welcoming environment, surrounded by the majestic whitewashed landscapes of the Dolomites. What better thing to want for a weekend in the snow?

How much does a snowmobile ride in the Veneto cost?

A 1-hour snowmobile tour costs around 100€. The price normally refers to the vehicle, which can carry up to two passengers. The cost goes up if the snowmobile ride is combined with another experience, such as dinner at a lodge or a snowshoeing tour. In these cases, the rates can range from 110 to 150€.

15 Feb 2026 | Sleigh ride experience with sunset sandwich on the Asiago Plateau

Truly an experience...

Truly an experience to be repeated! The enchanting scenery thanks to the snow that kept falling made it all a journey into unspoilt nature and silent hibernation! Special... The guide Alex made it all very lively and dynamic thanks to his friendliness, which made us all feel at ease and like a unic group! Thank you Alex!!.. When we arrived at the hut, the managers gave us a great welcome... Efficient and ready to offer sandwiches and unna beer that taste of simple but special flavours of these lands! The fort that takes us back to a time . unhappy time in our history deserves to be seen... Because... We cannot forget.... Although the sunset and the view below were not visible due to the weather... It was snowing...and how enchanting!!! We recommend this plunge into an enchanted landscape!!! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 from the sixty-year-old group

I felt like I was in a winter postcard

Let me start by saying that I went up to the Asiago Plateau expecting a good experience, and I was not disappointed at all. The guide won us over immediately with his friendliness. During the ascent to the Rifugio Forte Verena he created a really pleasant atmosphere, making us feel more like a small group on an excursion than mere participants in an organised activity. Once up there, the homemade sandwich was really good, with tasty and genuine local products. But the best thing, for me, was the apple mulled wine: warm and fragrant, practically perfect as we watched the snow fall relentlessly. In fact, unfortunately we didn't see the sunset because it kept snowing the whole time, but in the end that's what made it such a unique experience... it almost felt like being inside a winter postcard! For all these reasons, for me it's a highly recommended experience!
