Lake Garda is a wealth of beauty that is revealed in its entirety only to those who experience it from the most authentic perspective, that is, by sailing on its waters. A boat tour is an opportunity to take a closer look at the lake landscapes. The elegant villas, castles, marinas, picturesque villages lining the shores, and mountains framing the lake will provide the backdrop for a day of relaxation.

Lake Garda boat tours: the beauty of the lake from an alternative point of view
Among the many recreational and sporting offerings provided by outdoor centers around Lake Garda, we sometimes forget about one of the simplest but equally fascinating activities: boat tours. A boat ride allows you to reach the lake’s most beautiful destinations in a short time and take a true tour of wonders from one shore to the other.
You can choose whether to do the tour on a motorboat or a sailboat, also very popular. In fact, due to its location and conformation, Lake Garda presents special currents that favor sailing. So why not take advantage of this feature and enjoy a day of leisure lulled by the wind?
Lake Garda boat tours: the best trips
There are truly lots of possibilities for those who want to organize a boat tour on Lake Garda. Must-see highlights include the Catullus Caves and Sirmione Castle, the fortified walls of Peschiera del Garda, Punta San Vigilio, and Isola del Garda. The boats set sail from major Garda resorts such as Desenzano, Peschiera, Lazise, Malcesine, Riva del Garda, Limone sul Garda, or Gardone Riviera.
A full lake tour takes a whole day and usually includes stops to visit centers of interest on foot. But it is also possible to take shorter tours and visit a specific location. Those who prefer a customized tour, however, can opt for a boat rental or a private tour with a route of their choice.
How much does a boat tour on the Garda cost?
Prices for a boat tour on Lake Garda depend on the starting location, the duration of the outing, and the type of boat. To give you an idea: a full-day sailing tour departing from Lazise (VR) costs 90 euros per person. The same tour in private version is priced at 250 euros for the whole boat.
A weekend-long sailing tour on Lake Garda with an overnight stay and lunch on board costs 540 euros for two.
Celebrate a special event with a sailing or motorboat tour
Lake Garda is the perfect setting to celebrate a special event, especially if you decide to rent a boat just for you and the people you want to share the moment with. For example, a boat tour on Lake Garda can be a perfect idea for celebrating a bachelorette/bachelorette party in style. For these special occasions, customized tours can be arranged to satisfy even the most demanding. And those who want a less strenuous tour can book a sunset boat tour with aperitif and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of a sunset on the lake.

Farewell to the hen party!!
A wonderful sailing experience with Silvia and Maurizio! They welcomed us with great hospitality and warmth, making us feel at ease straight away. Their stories during the trip made the day even more interesting; the food was excellent and we had a brilliant time. An experience we’d definitely recommend!

Everything went really well
Everything went really well – we arrived early. They gave us a brief briefing, and we picked up the boat, which was clean and in excellent condition with everything we needed on board, and we had a fantastic four-hour day out on Lake Garda… I highly recommend it, not least because the price is very competitive compared to other boat hire companies – it’s well worth travelling a few extra kilometres to use this hire firm. You set off with a full tank of fuel and, on your return, you top up the difference and pay on the spot. It’s all very straightforward.

Adrenaline-fuelled tour over the August bank holiday
Mike took us on a tour of the Sirmione peninsula to the beat of the music, and it was a real adrenaline rush. It was brilliant 😻 – a different sort of Ferragosto.

First time on a sailing boat
On Saturday 29 August, we went out for a sunset cruise in the Gulf of Salò. It was a wonderful experience, even for the two boys (aged 13 and 9), who also had a go at the helm. Captain Giacomo was brilliant; he taught us a thing or two about sailing boats and showed us the beauty of the gulf. A highly recommended experience.
