A hot air balloon is an aircraft that uses the hot air inside the balloon to rise into the air. Flying in a hot air balloon is a unique and unrepeatable experience because the craft has neither an engine nor a rudder and follows the wind currents without a clear destination. Nevertheless, thanks to the pilot’s experience and perfect knowledge of the winds, you travel in the utmost safety.
Before each flight, passengers witness the preparation phase of the hot air balloon. Then, after a detailed briefing on safety regulations, you board the basket. Upon landing, a flight certificate signed by the pilot is handed out, and the experience ends with a toast and a tasty sampling of local products. Hot air balloon flights over Rome last about 60 minutes and can take place year-round in the early morning hours, provided weather conditions are favorable.
Flying in a hot air balloon is a suitable activity for everyone. No specific skills or experience are required. You just need to be in good health and have no lower limbs issues, as you travel standing up in the basket. The activity is not recommended for pregnant women and pacemaker wearers.
It is hard to find an experience as exciting and peaceful as a hot air balloon flight over Rome, among the capital’s green countryside and the medieval villages scattered across the land.
A takeoff point near Rome is Magliano Sabina, where it is possible to fly over the ruins of the archaeological area of Otricoli and the landscape of the Sabina hills. The hot air balloon reaches an altitude of 500 meters in order to admire the beautiful view of the Tiber Valley, but it can also descend a few meters high and skim over trees and wheat fields.
The cost of a hot air balloon tour in Rome depends on the type of flight you choose. The private flight is an exclusive flight that allows you to reserve the hot air balloon totally for yourself and take a small group of friends or family members onboard with you. Instead, in a group flight, you travel together with other participants.
For a group flight in a hot air balloon, prices start at 249 euros per person. For a private flight, you usually spend more, but rates vary depending on the number of participants.
Book a hot air balloon flight in Rome and gift this incredible tour to the people you love to celebrate a birthday, graduation, anniversary and other important occasions. To give your partner a special gift, however, you can reserve the hot air balloon for two and have a romantic experience at high altitude amidst the hues of the sunrise sky.

First experience of 'floating' in the air: beautiful, to be repeated in other places in Italy, without necessarily going to Cappadocia. The flying experience is preceded/followed by the phase of preparing the basket and the balloon: I must say that it is important to take part in this phase before/after the flight because, even if you watch and do nothing material, it gives the flyer a sense of protagonism, makes you overcome possible fears, makes you socialise with the other passengers. It's a real 'immersive experience'. What about the pilot! A very nice person, with an observer's eye ready to catch the passenger's need (from the photo, to the emotion, to the curiosity). In itself, the flight is serene: you don't notice either 'taking off/going up', or 'landing/going down', or 'floating/flying', nor do you suffer from vertigo. Money well invested! All too good!

What a thrill! A wonderful experience! To be tried at least once in a lifetime. My fiancé and I flew in the province of Terni, the flight lasted an hour or so, we flew over the Tiber, the surrounding woods and saw the landscapes around there! When we landed, we found a sumptuous banquet waiting for us consisting of salami from norcia, cheese and excellent wine. We flew with other people (there were 8 of us in total) but it was an intimate experience all the same. The flight is relaxing and really exciting, especially if, like us, it is done at dawn.nYou will find a helpful, attentive, polite and organised crew who will make sure you enjoy the experience to the fullest. A special thanks to the pilot who responded promptly to every curiosity, showing all his expertise and competence, we couldn't have asked for better.

Great experience, to be repeated. Maurizio very competent and a responsible and genuine person. The staff with little experience were often taken back by the instructor. This side to be improved
