Everything you need to know before a quad bike tour

Quad bikes are part of the ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) category, so called because they can be driven over any type of terrain. They are equipped with large wheels and a sturdy structure that allows stable and safe driving even on uneven ground. A quad bike can be used to ford streams, cross cliffs and dirt roads, and overcome sandy and muddy expanses. They are the ideal companions for an adventure in natture with an unfailing touch of adrenaline!

To drive a quad bike, you must have a regular B driver’s license. There are basic routes and more technical routes, for which some experience and off-road driving skills are required. In any case, guided excursions always include a briefing on the itinerary and a test drive to get familiar with the vehicle.

In most cases, two people can ride on quad bikes: the driver and a passenger. Children are also allowed as passengers. To go on a quad tour, you must dress comfortably and in clothes that can get mud and dirt on them. It is also a good idea to carry a mask or bandana to cover your mouth and avoid inhaling the dust that rises on dirt trails.

Quad Tuscany: where to go for a quad bike ride

Tuscany is an ideal region for quad biking and offers many possibilities. The Chianti Classico and Crete Senesi area is one of the most popular for this type of activity. Starting from Asciano (SI), you will drive along paths immersed in nature and the Sienese countryside, in a real postcard landscape. You know the cypress avenues typical of the Tuscan hills? Here, with a quad bike tour in Siena, you will find yourself right there!

For a quad bike tour in the Maremma, it is possible to start from Montieri (GR) and explore the Colline Metallifere, delving into the more rural part of the area. Instead, those who want to discover the wilder side of Tuscany can book a quad bike tour in and around Lucca. Garfagnana‘s territory, in fact, offers trails among wilderness, rocks, mountains and streams.

Last but not least, there are the beautiful medieval villages that grace the Tuscan countryside. For a trip between history, nature and culture, you can leave by quad from Pisa, Florence or Arezzo and explore the surroundings to discover real architectural and natural gems.

Tuscany quad bike tours: how much do they cost?

Prices for a quad bike tour in Tuscany vary by location and type of experience. For example, for a 1-hour quad bike tour in the Crete Senesi area you spend a minimum of 50 euros. Prices for a half-day excursion to the Maremma, on the other hand, start at 150 euros.

These prices refer to quad bike rental for one person. Adding a passenger usually involves an extra fee ranging from 10 to 35 euros, depending on the length of the route.

Rates increase if the experience includes extra services such as lunches, apéritifs or tastings. To get an idea: a full-day quad bike tour in the Chianti hills with a typical lunch included costs 335 euros. In this case, the fee refers to the rental of a quad bike for two people and lunch for two.

Gift a quad bike ride

Gifting an outdoor experience is an increasingly popular choice among consumers, and quad bike tours are among the most popular activities. They are suitable for everyone, require no special physical exertion, are fun, and allow you to discover fascinating places. A quad bike tour is perfect as a gift for birthdays, graduations or other occasions.

A four-wheeled tour is also ideal as a gift for couples, since two people travel on the quad bike. If you decide to gift it to your better half, you could choose a quad bike tour with dinner and overnight stay in a farmhouse and spend a romantic and adventurous weekend in the Tuscan hills. Because of the fun and goliardic nature of this activity, quad rides are also popular for celebrating events such as bachelor parties. Ready to go?

PERFECT

Service Perfect, Fast and Fun, We had a great time! Their building is super nice, and professional, there are new locker rooms and showers kept very well, very good indeed! The quads are fantastic, super easy to use and no fatigue, the landscapes are something wonderful! You have fun with responsibility and also with a bit of adrenaline, with lots of rivers . The restaurant is really good, you eat very few places so well. We were with Danilo , very responsible and not obsessive about control , he made us have fun safely!!! Absolutely to do again!! Also suitable for Girls and Ladies .

30 Jul 2023 | Panoramic quad tour in Chianti with tasting

3-hour quad bike excursion with tasting

Despite being the first driving experience, it was easy to get the hang of it and fun to ride both on and off the road. The typical Tuscan landscapes, scents and colours left us speechless. We recommend the late afternoon shift to appreciate the play of shadows on the soft hills of the Chianti . Appropriate tasting with samples of cold meats and cheeses at km 0 , well served and commented above all on the pairing of the 2 wines that accompanied. Just a note, we would have appreciated some stops to take some panoramic photos 🤩

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!

Super positive quad bike experience; I'm from the area so I know our wonderful Maremma very well; I decided to give this experience to my daughter; Sergio and Simone welcome you, giving you all the safety information and information on using the vehicle, especially for someone like me who is a beginner with a quad bike; a test drive follows and then we set off along the route through the scrubland admiring a spectacular view; lunch surrounded completely by nature! Nothing better! Super recommended! Thanks guys!

14 Aug 2023 | 1-hour quad tour of the Crete Senesi area

Experience to be repeated

I booked a one-hour quad bike tour of the Crete Senesi for two people. The experience was so beautiful and fun that we decided on the spot to continue with the second hour, thus also visiting Chianti. Needless to say, it was the best choice we could have made, given the breathtaking views of that region! A big thank you to our guide, who not only taught us how to drive the quad bike and guided us along the way, but also told us anecdotes about the places we visited and the city of Siena and its surroundings.

Fantastic experience!

Surprise experience for my children aged 11 and 15...they were delighted!!! And so were we 🤩 Beautiful tour in the middle of the chestnut groves, but also quite challenging...but we slowly made it 💪 The jewel in the crown was the idea of stopping at a kind of mountain hut where our very kind guide cooked us a delicious sausage and offered us an aperitif of bread, cheese and wine. Thanks to Alessio who was very patient and helpful. Really super recommended!

17 Aug 2023 | Quad tour to Monticchiello in Val d'Orcia

Sensational

We booked this quad bike tour with Valentino, who was immediately available to change the time at our request without too much notice. We were the only ones doing the tour that day and I must say that despite it being our first approach with the quad bike everything went smoothly. Valentino was super attentive and gave us a great tour through the woods and driveways. Friendly and easy going I would highly recommend him!!!
