Un’escursione in canoa o in kayak è una meravigliosa esperienza adatta a tutti che permette di immergersi completamente nella natura.
È importante tenere in considerazione che kayak e canoa solitamente non possono trasportare pesi superiori ai 100 kg, mentre l’età minima per partecipare aI tour dipende dal livello di difficoltà dell’esperienza, ma solitamente anche i più piccoli possono partecipare ai tour come passeggeri divertendosi a prendere gli schizzi d’acqua.
Si può partecipare alle escursioni a bordo di kayak singoli oppure a bordo di canoe canadesi a 3 posti. Con la pagaia si può scegliere la direzione mentre ci si gode lentamente lo splendido panorama.
Il fiume Tirino si trova nel Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso in Abruzzo e ha la peculiarità di essere uno dei fiumi più puliti d’Europa. Da quanto le sue acque sono limpide è possibile scorgerne i fondali. Il Tirino scorre nella natura selvaggia dove la vegetazione cresce rigogliosa e numerose specie animali trovano habitat sulle sue sponde.
Data la tranquillità con cui le sue acque scorrono lungo il percorso, scoprire il fiume Tirino in canoa è un’esperienza a cui può partecipare tutta la famiglia. Inoltre, proprio perché il fiume scorre lentamente è possibile ammirare in tutta calma il meraviglioso paesaggio che lo circonda.
Molte delle escursioni in canoa sul Tirino partono da Capodacqua nel comune di Capestrano e dove si trova una delle tre sorgenti che alimentano il fiume, ma anche da Bussi sul Tirino in provincia di Pescara partono meravigliose escursioni canoa.
Solitamente i tour seguono percorsi ad anello della lunghezza di circa 5 km, variabili a seconda dell’esperienza dei partecipanti.
Durante il tour si respira il profumo della vegetazione che cresce lungo le sponde del fiume e si ascoltano i suoni della natura che donano un senso di pace e tranquillità.
Percorrere il fiume Tirino in canoa permette anche di assaggiare una pianta commestibile del luogo: la sedanina acquatica, che trova il suo habitat lungo le sponde del fiume. A questa pianta sono state attribuite proprietà diuretiche e decongestionanti.
Un tour in kayak sul fiume Tirino costa circa 30€ a persona e ha una durata di 2 ore e mezza. Nelle escursioni in canoa a più posti sul Tirino, invece, il costo di 70€ è da considerarsi a mezzo, su cui possono salire due persone e una guida.

Was well organised and felt safety was adhered to. The river is beautiful and it was a lovely, relaxing was to get off the beaten track and immerse yourself and learn about the flora and fauna of the region. Also a great way to beat the heat of the coast where we were staying. nnOur guide Hazim was knowledgeable and offered just the right mix of information with allowance to be quiet and listen/absorb what was going on around us and just be. nnI would recommend this to anyone with a reasonable fitness level (its not too strenuous as you’re only paddling up river then get to coast back down) or if you’re a couple in a canoe (as opposed to kayak), you may (like us) have the guide paddling/steering at the back so one person gets to ride in the middle without paddling.

A wonderful canoeing experience on the River Tirino! We hired a single canoe and were followed along the route by the guide, who was really good and helpful: he helped us at the most challenging points and enriched the route with lots of interesting facts about the local flora and fauna (thanks again Matteo). The water is really crystal clear and the natural environment makes the hike relaxing and evocative! Not to be missed if you are in the area.

A wonderful experience, the guides who lead you through the experience are very knowledgeable in naturalistic, historical and cultural explanations. We had a little swim in the river with water at 10 degrees in July! We also spotted several birds native to the river.

Amazing days accompanied on an e-bike by the best guide for discovering routes hidden to most and enriching oneself with his immense culture on animals, plants and the history of the area: Piero . nice excursion on the wonderful Tirono in a canoe with Giada. All the guys in the cooperative are kind, helpful and didactic! Cheap but really good excursions that make you get your fill of Abbruzzese nature
