Rafting in Val di Sole: everything you need to know
Val di Sole is a haven for many outdoor sports activities including rafting, canyoning, canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking.
Rafting is a river sport that involves navigating the waters of a river aboard a self-emptying boat, called a raft, that holds about 8 people.
A rafting guide coordinates the movements of the crew who, with the help of paddles, work together to overcome rapids and other natural obstacles along the way. For this reason, rafting is a particularly good activity for companies’ team building, which can strengthen coordination and team spirit.
Rafting is an activity suitable for everyone: there are no real age limits, you just need to be able to swim and be in good physical condition.
The best rafting trips in Val di Sole
Along the 28 navigable kilometers of the Noce River, there are stretches with different characteristics and difficulties, from the easiest for beginners to the most extreme for experts.
It is possible to raft along short stretches of the river or to travel the entire river to fully appreciate its every feature.
Rafting in Mezzana
In Mezzana, Val di Sole, you have a wide choice of routes. The upper section of the Noce River is more suitable for beginners and families. Depending on your preference, you can follow along the river for 5 or 8 km.
But there are also stretches that are more challenging and navigable only by adults. These include the 13 km long rapids which were the location of international slalom kayak competitions and the 13 km route among the forested gorges of Malé. The more courageous can descend both stretches and reach Ponte Stori after about a 25 km long trip.
Rafting in Ossana
Rafting routes in Ossana include the 25 km from Cusiano to Dimaro and then from Monclassico to Ponte Stori. This route is ideal for those who have gone rafting in the past and want to have fun with 4th grade rapids.
Families can travel from Cusiano and cross the Mezzana rapids. After passing the Piano di Commezzadura, the route ends in Dimaro, for a total of 10 km. In the Mezzana section, the rafting center offers a transfer for children with its vehicles.
Rafting on the Brenta Dolomites
There are other possible rafting routes on the Brenta Dolomites.
From Commezzadura, rafting centers in Val di Sole organize trips on the higher section of the river, which is less challenging but still exciting. Instead, from Caldes, the rafting centers offer transportation to Monclassico, which is the starting point of another 15 km long route.
How much does it cost to go rafting in Val di Sole?
In the Val di Sole, rafting is priced from 28 to 79 euros depending on the starting location, the length of the route and the offered services. Services can be transportation to/from the river or videos and photos of the experience.
Gift a rafting trip in Val di Sole
Rafting in Val di Sole is the ideal activity to celebrate any occasion such as a birthday, graduation or bachelor/bachelorette party. An original gift idea to spend a fun-filled day with the people you love.
The Noce River and river sports
The Noce River ranks among the best waterways in which to engage in water sports due to the length of the navigable stretch, the presence of numerous rapids of varying intensity, and the beauty of the landscapes that accompany it throughout its course.
Along the way, the river has some places where it flows really fast and is therefore navigable only by the most experienced canoeists, but the stretch that flows in the Val di Sole is the most fun and where everyone, even novices, can enjoy river sports, including rafting, hydrospeed and canoeing.

A Perfect Rafting Experience in Light Rain
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The weather played a big part in making it even better. There was a light rain throughout the trip, which turned out to be perfect for rafting. The activity does require a bit of fitness, but it’s absolutely worth it.nnWe initially booked the Classic tour and later upgraded to the Adventure tour, and I’m glad we did. It was definitely worth the upgrade. The guides were excellent, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience fun and safe.nnI’d definitely recommend it, and I’d visit again.

A day to remember
Yesterday, 23 August at 1 pm, my boyfriend, I and some of our friends went rafting down the river. It was a wonderful experience – a first for all of us – and we really enjoyed it: it was fun, not too difficult but still quite challenging. However, with the excitement and enthusiasm we had for the adventure, we didn’t even notice the effort. The staff were very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and approachable – especially our instructor Simone, who accompanied us; he’s a lovely person. We’ll definitely be back; it was a wonderful experience and we’d highly recommend it.

Definitely worth doing again!
The team are very knowledgeable and provide all the guidance needed to ensure a completely safe experience. On arrival, they explain how the activity will take place, but it’s advisable to arrive already wearing your swimwear and the shoes you’ll be using, and to leave any valuables in the car, as there are no lockers with keys, just simple plastic baskets in which to store your rucksacks and a change of clothes. Otherwise, once you’ve been issued with the equipment (wetsuit, life jacket, buoyancy aid and helmet), you’re taken upstream to the starting point for the rubber dinghy trip. Halfway through the trip, just before the rapids, you’ll be shown what to do if you fall into the water, with a quick swimming lesson in the river! So, a dip in the cold water and off you go again! Definitely recommended even for those who are a bit nervous, as it’s really safe and great fun.
