In Veneto you can go rafting on the Brenta and Adige rivers. Both rivers are surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and offer routes suitable for everyone. The navigable stretches of these two rivers present an abundant but mostly calm water flow rate and are free of technical difficulties. Therefore, to make the trips more adventurous, the rafting centers often offer along the way aquatics and agility tests such as diving, swimming, rope climbs, races between rafts, and more.

A rafting trip in Veneto is also a way to discover the history of the area, especially in Val D'Adige in the Terra dei Forti (Land of the Forts). This area, in fact, is known for the presence of numerous fortresses from the Austro-Hungarian era which are visible while navigating the Adige River.

Rafting: what you need to know to tackle a trip

Rafting is a team river sport that involves traveling down the course of a river by overcoming rapids and other natural obstacles. It is practiced aboard special inflatable boats, rafts. Each raft can carry a crew of 6 to 8 people, captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands for navigation.

In its recreational form, rafting is a suitable activity for everyone. It requires no special experience or skills. You just need to have a good relationship with water and choose the course best suited to your level. A briefing on basic techniques and safety rules is always held before boarding the rafts.

Usually, rafting is practiced from April to October. You need to wear a bathing suit, a thermal T-shirt and sneakers you’re okay with getting wet. All the other equipment is provided by the rafting center.

The best locations for rafting on the Brenta are Valstagna and Campolongo sul Brenta, in the province of Vicenza. Trips of all kinds are organized here, from the simplest and suitable even for children to more adventurous routes that require good water skills.

For rafting on the Adige River, however, you have to move to the province of Verona. The towns of Brentino and Pescantina are the points from which to navigate along the stretch of river that runs through the Lagarina Valley and the Terra dei Forti. Rafting centers in the area also organize special rafting trips in Verona, in which you sail to the historic center of the city.

A beautiful group adventure

The experience went as per the instructions on the site. The staff were attentive and helpful to our needs. The centre is well equipped, with clean showers and toilets and lockers where personal belongings can be safely stored. The green area is small but has a kiosk that prepares hot sandwiches and offers the possibility of a packed lunch.

Just great!

We had a fantastic day with Pietro on the Adige. Gently rafting down the river was lovely and Pietro had lots to say about the region - very knowledgable and eager to share. Max, our mountain guide took us up and down the mountain, all that safely - fun guaranteed! An amazing day in the outdoors for those who want something a bit different.

Good experience

I booked this soft rafting activity for me and my 7½-year-old daughter: the organisation is very good, the route is also suitable for children of that age. Halfway through, we were able to take a short dip in the river (equipped with life jackets). At the end, it is also possible to take a shower and change clothes.

Beautiful and relaxing

We had a great family trip with Matia our guide. The water was gentle but a lovely course. The kids loved the opportunity to jump from a low hanging tree into the river. After the trip, Anna got us lunch reservations at a great local restaurant, Locando Paradiso. One of the best meals we had in 2 weeks in Italy.

Fantastic experience

We spent two wonderful hours on the Adige River. Oriano our guide, was very friendly, explained the history of the places we passed with the dinghy and even allowed us to dive into the river. I recommend it to those who want to start using paddles and have fun with some rapids. SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN

16 Oct 2022 | Rafting tour in the heart of Verona with toast

Tour and Rafting

It is always great to get a city tour from a local. It was interesting and informative and fun. And then the casual rafting down the river going under all the city bridges was really nice, a different perspective. Our guides were absolutely great. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
