Rafting is a team sport that is practiced aboard special rafts. It consists in descending the course of a river, overcoming rapids and other natural obstacles. A raft can carry a crew of 6 to 8 people, including an experienced guide who gives the commands.
Rafting is an activity for everyone. No specific skills are needed to practice it, just good water skills. Equipment is provided by the rafting center. You only need to bring your own towel, bathing suit and sneakers that you’re okay with getting wet.
The Tanagro River, along with the Sele and Calore, offers rafting routes of different levels. The trip between Pertosa and Auletta, on the Tanagro, is the right experience for thrill-seekers. Along the river you encounter wonderful natural settings and 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade rapids.
But rafting in Cilento is also suitable for beginners and families with children. In fact, all three rivers have less challenging and mostly scenic stretches.
Prices for a rafting trip in Campania start at 35 euros per person for a classic descent on the Tanagro or Calore rivers.
It’s also possible to carry out special experiences such as a mini-raft trip, a 2-person inflatable canoe, or a combined activity of rafting on the Sele River and an adventure course. In this case, you spend about 80 euros per person.
