Full description

There is much more to Venice than just the city. The surrounding lagoon is full of surprises and adventures for nature and history lovers, and a kayak tour is the best way to discover it.

Afull day of sport and the beauty of the lagoon: we will visit beautiful islands, admire ancient buildings, lush gardens and refined residences. We will cross canals and sandbanks and immerse ourselves in the natural habitat of a large number of bird species.

If you love paddling in company, being in close contact with nature and visiting beautiful places, this experience will not disappoint. Get ready to leave with us!

What we will do

We will meet in the morning at the bar of the Hotel Certosa, on the lagoon island of the same name (you can use the 4.2 water bus to get there). There we will form the group and our guides will provide all the necessaryequipment and instructions. After that we will be ready to leave.

Theitinerary is variable and will be decided together before departure. We will visit the colourful Burano, famous for its lace and picturesque houses, the island of Torcello, known for its basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, rich in Byzantine mosaics, and the island of San Francesco del Deserto with its ancient Franciscan monastery. We will have time to take a complete tour of the lagoon, also passing places of special natural interest, especially for birdwatchers.

We will paddle for most of the day at a relaxed pace, make several stops, and for lunch we will stop on one of the islands, where we can sample local specialities or have a picnic meal.

The excursion will end in the late afternoon with a return to the departure base on the island of Certosa. The route, varying in length from 20 to 30 km, makes the activity suitable for those who are in good physical shape and have some experience in kayaking.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an intermediate level. Good physical condition, a fair amount of kayaking experience and a minimum age of 14 years are required.

Other information

Attention. You must arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

You can leave all valuables in special boxes at the meeting point. In addition, the kayaks are equipped with watertight bags for storing small personal items.

This activity can be booked from March to November.

What happens in case of bad weather?

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.

If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?

For this activity, the cancellation policy is very strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 31 days from the activity start date. Within 30 and 15 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
