Favignana boat tour: exploring the main isle of the Egadi Islands

A boat trip to Favignana takes a full day and involves a complete tour of the island plus a stop to visit the village. One after the other, you’ll get to visit all the most beautiful coves in the area: Cala Rossa, with its fine, clear sandy beach; Bue Marino, with its historic tuff quarries; Cala Azzurra and its very clear seabed; and Cala Rotonda with its striking rock arch. You’ll be able to stop at each of these bays to enjoy a swim.

It is virtually impossible to resist the urge to take a dip and snorkel in the clear waters.

Toward the middle of the day, the boat tours include a stop for a couple of hours in the town center of the island of Favignana. Here you can get around on foot or rent bikes or scooters to reach panoramic spots amid unspoiled nature. We also recommend a visit to the Tonnara of Favignana, one of the largest in the Mediterranean.

Where to embark on a boat tour in Favignana

Boat tours to Favignana depart mainly from the ports of Trapani and Marsala. It takes 30 to 40 minutes of sailing time to reach the island’s shores, depending on the boat and weather conditions. Tours of the Egadi Islands also depart directly from Favignana, but in any case you have to reach the island’s port by ferry from Trapani or Marsala.

Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo

Levanzo and Marettimo are the other two islands of the Egadi archipelago. The former can be reached by a 20-minute boat ride from Favignana. Many tours include a stop at Levanzo and at the most beautiful coves such as Cala Fredda, Cala Minnola and Cala Faraglione.

Marettimo is the smallest and wildest of the Egadi Islands. It is quite far from the other two and requires almost two hours of sailing from Favignana. Being the most remote, this island has a special charm and is perfect for those seeking the utmost tranquility and wanting to keep off the beaten track of mass tourism.

Boat tour to Favignana: how much does it cost?

The price for a boat tour to Favignana depends on the type of boat and services included. For example, a day trip departing from Trapani costs 50 to 80 euros per person. In some cases, lunch on board or an aperitif of typical products is included.

Rates increase when it comes to private tours. Renting a sailboat for exclusive use costs 600 to 800 euros, depending on the period. Usually, private boats with skipper are reserved for small groups of 2 to 10 passengers.

Egadi Islands by sailboat: an unforgettable gift

A sailing trip to the Egadi Islands can be a perfect gift to celebrate an important occasion or to make your vacation in Sicily special. The lush nature of these islands, the beautiful coast and the sparkling colors of the water will be the setting of a wonderful day at sea in one of the most fascinating corners of the Mediterranean.

23 Aug 2026 | Motorboat tour from San Vito Lo Capo to Favignana and Levanzo

A brilliant experience – I’d definitely recommend it.

It was a full-day trip; the crew were very friendly, and we really enjoyed everything. We made our first stop for a swim on the way there at Cala Azzurra, and we reached Favignana in three and a half hours – it was a really pleasant journey, not at all boring, with a stunning sea.
