Ischia boat tours: all the places to discover
If you are on vacation in Ischia, a boat tour is totally a must-do experience. Sant’Angelo is one of the most popular destinations in the area, as this small, picturesque seaside village can only be reached by boat. This tour can also be done in half a day, for those in a bit of a hurry.
A full island tour is the recommended choice for those visiting Ischia for the first time. Among the many things to see, from the boat you get to admire the imposing Aragonese Castle that stands on the coast, the famous and legendary Grotto of the Magician, and the rock renamed Maradona’s Foot, because of its shape that resembles a foot.
A tour of the island by boat is sure to touch on the most beautiful beaches and bays, such as San Montano and San Pancrazio or Maronti beach, popular for its warm water. Due to its volcanic origins, the island of Ischia is also famous for its thermal parks that attract thousands of tourists each year, including from abroad.
From the port of Naples or Sorrento, you can reach Ischia even only through a one-day tour. For a tour of the island, you can set sail from Ischia Porto and other island towns such as Forio, Lacco Ameno and Casamicciola Terme. From Ischia, it is also possible to leave to visit Capri and Procida.
Green Grotto of Ischia, a wonder accessible only by sea
Ischia’s Green Grotto has a unique feature that makes it increasingly popular among adventurers. Swimming in it, you can reach a small inlet with a crystal-clear and very shallow seabed. You also witness a special phenomenon due to the encounter of light rays and water reflections: you turn green. This cave is located on the southeastern side of the island and can only be reached by boat.
Boat tours to the bay of San Pancrazio
Another place not to be missed if you are visiting the island of Ischia is the Bay of San Pancrazio, with its small pebble beach and its many ravines. Because of this conformation, San Pancrazio is a pristine paradise for snorkelers. Octopus, redfish, sole and other fish can be spotted. On the rocks, on the other hand, sea urchins and other shellfish abound and are often harvested to cook excellent seafood dishes.
Ischia boat tours: how much do they cost?
The price for a boat tour to Ischia depends on the itinerary and duration. For example, a 3 1/2-hour tour costs around 20 euros per person. For a 6-hour trip, you spend about 50 euros with lunch on board included. The price rises to 149 euros for a day tour to Ischia and Procida. Discounts are often provided for children.
Prices increase for private boat tours. To give you an idea: a full-day private tour from Sorrento to Ischia costs 300 to 400 euros for the whole boat (rate to be divided among participants, up to a maximum of 8 people).

Competent and helpful staff. They shared anecdotes and interesting facts with us during the trip.nThe sailing times and expectations (food quality and quantity, number of stops at sea) were met.nIt’s definitely worth spending half a day exploring the island to see places that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Full-day boat tour of Ischia, including a visit to Procida
We had a fantastic day with Adrian and his family, who looked after us as if we were friends, which made the day truly special. We went on the full-day tour and had so much fun and plenty of laughs, meeting some really lovely people and sharing our experiences of Ischia.nThe food was really tasty, with delicious seafood pasta for lunch, watermelon and a fantastic lemon cake originally from Capri, accompanied by plenty of wine and prosecco. During the day, we stopped several times to go for a swim and got to see the island from a different angle. Thank you all for a fantastic experience – well worth the money.
